Continuing the discussion from Champions League 2015/16 - Rounds of 78 through 48:

Ciftci starting is very interesting.
Subs:
Ambrose, Griffiths, Stokes, Rogic, Bailly, Forrest, Fisher
Happy with that team. Looking at the bench, I think it highlights where we’re short. Griffiths and Stokes (with Scepovic in the wings) suggests we’re ok up front and Forrest and Commons (is he injured?) are reasonable back up for the secondary attackers, with Stokes available there too. Rogic needs to improve plenty before he’s a candidate for midfield though, Fisher is only SPL sub level from what I’ve seen and Ambrose remains Ambrose (though hopefully to be replaced by Mulgrew as the first sub defender).
Badly need a central midfielder. If we aren’t going to be playing Boerrigter I’d hope we could get rid of his wages and grab someone else with pace instead. And I’m not sure about either Mulgrew or Ambrose for centre back - would like another option there too.

Need a VPN. I use one and then I have the HD Celtic TV feed which is excellent quality to be fair.
Johansen should have scored there.
Not the most impressive opening 26/27 minutes.
Passing has been very loose. Ciftci doing a reasonable job in terms of strength and being an outlet up front but we’re not stringing many passes together. Only the two half chances for Johansen and Ciftci so far.
Armstrong misses a 1v1 after Forrest and Johansen released him.
Armstrong telegraphed his finish there. Fairly unimpressive so far alright.
Couple of better crosses from the full backs in the last few minutes. We need more of that from them if we’re to drag them out of their narrow defence.

Super chance for Forrest after a nice pass from Johansen.
Better tempo in the last 15 minutes. Could be more than 1 up, need to finish more than 1 up.
Should be able to score another couple in the second half. Izaguirre has been abysmal.
Not intended as a criticism of Johansen (because he’s often our best player and his attacking and pressing work-rate is phenomenal) but imagine how good a Naka or Moravcik would have been in this Celtic team. We play so much through Johansen in that free role. A real natural playmaker would have a field day.
