I’ll probably watch the 1st quarter and sky plus the rest. Oklahoma State gave Texas Tech a fair beating, looks between them and Stanford now to face LSU after Boise State’s defeat. If both of them lose I wonder if Alabama could sneak into the number 2 spot?
Texas A&M and Kansas State going to the 4th period of overtime now! 47-47.
Oregon 22-9 Stanford with 2:52 left in the second quarter. Andrew Luck not having a good night so far.
Typed too soon. Luck was very impressive there. 2-minute drill and marched them downfield for a TD. 22-16. Should be a good second half but I’m out.
Just watched it there on sky plus. That will put to bed any talk of Stanford or Boise in the national championship game. Its a shootout between Ok State and Alabama now to see who gets to face LSU. My money is on the Tide to do it, I reckon the Sooners will take care of their neighbours when they meet in early December.
Last night was probably the end of Andrew Luck’s Heisman trophy run too.
Just finished watching it there. Bye bye Boise and Stanford. If O state lose to the Sooners I wouldn’t rule out Oregon getting back in the final game Very compelling performance there from the Ducks and they have an outside chance now.
The Ducks & Ok St both lost last night, no way either of them can be selected for the national championship now. Alabama are in poll position to meet LSU. Boise St will be kicking themselves.
hey bandage, can you use your admin powers and merge some posts that tards have posted on the old thread from last year? might keep the discussions in order.
LSU looking good in the third quarter here against Arkansas. big impact on the title game pairing
and as I said it, an interception in the red zone. arkansas get a break.
Arkansas went 14-0 up.
LSU were 21-14 by half time.
LSU look safe enough here.
LSU 10-0 down to Georgia.
Cracking game so far. ESPN America now.
still watching CLD? Georgia playing some defence. no first down for the whle first half. didnt realise they had an aussie kicker with LSU. playing well.
Rocko was asking there recently about a drop kick to recover an onside kick. Georgia executed a normal onside kick tonight which was one of the best I’ve ever seen, and the best I’ve seen for a long time.
Yeah it’s compelling stuff. LSU with 12 yards offense in the first half and still in contention being only 10-7 down.
those early dropped passes from Georgia will end up costing them. that second one where yer man was pretty much walking in for a TD and just had to catch it was ridiculous. LSU arent firing at all, yet still in it.
hadnt seen that clip of the Aussie punter having his TD ruled out against florida for ‘taunting’. crazy shit. just as well the rule wasnt in for Desean Jackson.
Heisman Trophy voting results are coming in…
Robert Griffin III of Baylor has won the trophy. Well done to Robert and his family.
I see 'bama hammered the bejaysus out of LSU in the National Championship 21-0 last night, ending all doubts about who were the top dog in this year’s college ranks.
Roll Tide!
sky plussed it myself, but in 2 minds whether to wathc it all or not, considering the great Bowl games over Christmas. LSU only got past the 50 in the last quarter. 5 field goals and a rushing TD. Nick Saban has done another great job though.
Yeah sounds like the kind of game that you’d need to see live alright, some serious defensive players on both sides in fairness.
its on espn now if anyone is wanting to watch it.
Former US football coach Jerry Sandusky jailed over child sexual abuse
A former US university football coach has been sentenced to 30 to 60 years in prison for abusing young, at-risk boys for more than a decade.
The sentence could put Jerry Sandusky, 68, in prison for the rest of his life.
Sandusky was convicted on 45 counts of child sex abuse for molesting 10 boys over 15 years, some in the football team’s showers on Pennsylvania State University’s campus.
Sandusky’s defence lawyer Joseph Amendola has said any prison term longer than 20 years would be a “life sentence” for his client and that he is preparing an appeal.
Sandusky’s defence team has contended they did not have enough time to prepare for the high-profile trial.
On the eve of his sentencing, Sandusky released a taped statement on Penn State’s student radio station in which he denied he committed the “alleged disgusting acts” and said his wife has been his only sex partner.
Sandusky was accused of molesting boys he recruited through a charity he founded for at-risk youth.
