This is something we should have tried a long time ago. I get the feeling they are very unwilling to move O Driscoll from 13, even for a trial run in one game. I realise O Driscoll is the worlds best 13, but given the lack of alternative at 12 it really is something we should have looked at by now.

Anyone following the Irish Rugby Players on Twitter? They got a fuckload of gifts from O2 and the Shelbourne as they head off to the WC, and it seems that each player has also been asked to stump up a gift for the entire squad. Some average enough ones (the Shelbournes was a sheep for each player, ie, NZ), but some pretty decent stuff like David Wallaces personalised Oakleys and Jamie Heaslips headphones. Cant remember them all but nice work if you can get it I guess.

Earls had shown a couple of decent positions in defence but he was just horrible there for that try. Started too narrow, too slow to get wide and far too weak. No doubt some will say that’s a blinkered view again but that simply isn’t good enough!
