2011 Rugby World Cup

the aussies had the right idea a few years back, just carried on with their warm up, hit a few tackle bags, etc.
kiwis did their nut, cue NZ’s liveline equivalent lighting up with complaints of disrespecting “our” culture and the likes.
seems to be serious colonial guilt down there. hard to take some of these lads doing the haka seriously, especially when they’re whiter than you are.

FFS it’s not like we are allowed do the Walls of Limerick in response. It’s all about their culture.

It’s time to stop this madness. [quote=“treaty_exile, post: 588709”]

What shit are we going to attack Anto over Kev? He’s just expressing his opinion.

I’d prefer to see Reddan at scrum half but no harm giving Murray and Sexton some time together. Unhappy than Cullen looks like he’ll miss out on the 22. He should be given gametime with POC as he’s a stronger 2nd row option than Ryan. If our scrum is under pressure we’re screwed as Buckley will be no use. Good to see Irelands best out and out 7 getting the WC start his form has deserved for the past few seasons.

Remember all the shite when Wales wouldn’t let them do it in Cardiff and they did it in the dressing room? I wonder what would happen if the lads kicked a few balls at them when they were doing it.

I’d have no real issue with that team given the state of affairs. Best gets in again on account of supposed better scrummaging I’d imagine, but call be odd in that I prefer to have a hooker who can hook and throw. I dont rate Jennings one bit at this level, but shur hes the beneficiary of an injury so its nice to see him get a holiday I guess.

Remember what happened to Wales in that game after? NZ tore them to fucking shreds in the opening minutes. The myth of the haka is gone now with it showing up on TV every other day, not as awe inspiring as it once was thats for sure.

Kicking off tomorrow, what a tournament, cant wait. The world waits in anticipation…

Jennings will make this team tick. He’s been waiting for this opportunity to showcase his skills on the worlds main stage.

This is rugby country

If Paddy Wallace can shine in the South, anyone can. I’ll eat my words should I need to. Fuck it, Nicky Butt and Danny Mills once had good world cups, sun shines on a dogs arse every now and again.

Ah lovely

Crazy as it might sound, you’d imagine NZ will try to lay down a marker in the opening game and will try and destroy Tonga - could make the 60 (!) point handicap appealing.

Best of luck to the Irish national team. It’s always great to see our sportsmen and sportswomen excel on the international stage and I wish them every success.

This is why i can’t take you seriously on rugby.

Why so? Reddan and Sexton play better together than Sexton with any other scrum half - look back through any match where O’Leary and Sexton played. The first match of a world cup is hardly the best time to try a relatively new combination but at the same time if Reddan gets injured then Murray having played with Sexton will be of benefit.

Murray is definitely the future but it’s asking a lot of the lad (who’s barely a regular starter for his province when O’Leary is fit) to throw him straight in on the biggest stage in World Rugby.

Mac’s blind loyalty to all things Leinster is quite tiresome at this stage

Go on, throw another one in, I might bite this time.

Your post about Jennings and how he is going to make this team tick is yet another example of it

Go on, 3rd time lucky and all that

I’ve been aching for us to take a flyer on Murray for ages - I think I mentioned it back on page 1 of this thread. We’re looking quite stale in some key positions and scrum half has been one of them. Sometimes you need to be brave and see if he can provide a spark that’s been missing that will have a positive knock on effect elsewhere in the team. I really don’t rate Eoin Reddan at all.

I can’t echo Bando’s sentiments enough
