We’ve surely played in wet conditions before. That was a really basic error from Murphy.
After a promising start Murrey has looked green on occasions here
Don’t think we should be kicking that away. We’re doing well around the rucks with the basics and advancing the ball nearly every time.
Terrible option. Making great ground in tight and then a stupid cross kick? I’d bring on ROG at HT tbh. Sexton hasn’t been bad but we just need to close this game out.
Think Murray has been ok chewy. Few mistakes but he’s had hands on ball way more than anyone else. He keeps defence honest anyways. I just jinxed him there though.
Watched highlights of the Oz V Italy match there. They were level at have time at 6 all, Italy had plenty of chances, Australia settled and showed some good hands to score a few in the second half. James O’Connor played well for Oz.
Thank fcuk. We needed that boost.
deserved try just before h/t
Needed that one
Lovely finish from Bowe. Great step.
A try at long last. Scrappy enough in the end but once we improved our retention in their 22 it was inevitable we’d score. Murray kept the pace up for mot of that but thought he’d just been overly patient a couple of times coming back to the right though the little bit of confusion around Sexton created the gap in the end.
Great scrum against the head, that’ll do Bowe the world of good too. Time to throw on a few sausages now.
The USA deserve plenty of credit for a very good defensive display there in the first half. Eddie has them well drilled
Interesting to see contrast in two studios. Bet RTE will be massively negative and I think that’s been an ok half despite the errors. Pack has been good but 10-15 have let thm down. Nothing happening in the middle apart from the earls break outside Sexton early on, not sure why they haven’t tried it again. Set piece is good and a few great scrums. Conditions aren’t helping but this should be comfortable from here
Alan Quinlan is doing a fine job on ITV, good and even handed
ITV also have former Treviso out half Michael Lynagh in the studio with Girve the Swerve
Was just about to post something similar about the two panels. Hook won’t have a clue about anything other than the scoreline. Francis isn’t exactly known for his optimism but at least they have the ability to call the match as it’s going, not as the scoreboard says.
The error rate is annoying alright. I’d be attacking around the fringes as much as we can like we did for the try and when it goes wider the blind side wing off Sexton has broken through a couple of times so that looks like our most likely avenue for success with the backs.
I thought that was a modern day rugby phrase I’m not familiar with and was trying to work it out but I presume you’re just putting on a breakfast for yourself.
They certainly are dan. I don’t rate the panel tbh. Hook is just attention seeking. What are lads on Setanta saying?
Chewy I’m not sure USA have been good in defence. They look very average imo other than odd good hit in one off defending. Think it has been more pur ineptitude more than anything. Sexton hasn’t had a good 40 and his decision making has been poor. The final pass has let us down a couple of times. No threat at all from D’arcy or B’OD so far and no McFadden on the bench. Fancy us to win this by 30 plus as game opens up though. Elements with us too.
Excellent suggestion TRE…
Same weather conditions as our opener against Namibia in 2003 in Sydney.
We were 33-7 up @ HT that night though…

Gas. Iwas the exact same
Ha, Hook thinks we need to move it wide instead of keeping it in tight because of a few hits. In the RTÉ montage we only lost the ball once in their big hits section. All the breaks have come between the back of the ruck and the inside centre. They’re defending very wide. Hook is clueless.
