That is still under the average I need of 23.5, despite New Zealand, Argentina and South Africa all easily beating the handicaps and recording big margins. Ireland and Wales games offset those. Need Canada to put up a good front.

Yep, if they win they go into the hard side. Having seen them this morning I doubt they will have to throw the match. Watched all three games (I know Im a sad cunt) earlier and on Irelands performance yday nothing to fear from any of them. England were particularly poor I thought. France were disinterested but upped the ante significantly for a few minutes now and again. Both were terribly indisciplined in contrast to Ireland who conceded 8 against a side ‘stronger than them’ Eng conceded 14 and France 9 against teams who were vastly inferior on paper.
The interesting thing would be when France decide the want to lose to NZ and NZ decide they want to lose to France.

Ha ha, said it yesterday but I think all the SH teams will value the momentum more than the draw. Dont think any of them would want to take a chance on France in the knockout stages really, not enough to chuck the game anyways. Even picking a weakened side the fellas who come in will want to make an impression.
Its a funny one though. If Wales had held on against SA would we have thrown the game yesterday?!! At the time I thought we would have been better off doing so but after the win yesterday there is an incalculable value in the confidence and momentum that winning brings.

Funnily enough Piles, yes they did. You could see when Australia won the tri nations ( ) that the All Blacks didn’t give a shit and were actually laughing at the Wallabies as they celebrated.
