2011 Summer Transfer Window

Is the buyback mandatory like with the Bojan deal? Roma’s signing of Bojan is nothing more than a glorified loan in reality.

I don’t know who it’s binding on Totti but I imagine if Barcelona want him back they can have him at those prices. I don’t think it’s quite the same as the Bojan deal where the onus is on Roma to stump up more cash, but it’s another example of Barcelona retaining a financial interest in a player they have developed.

I would imagine that Barca would buy his contract back in theory for €10m / €15m and then Chelsea would have to pay another transfer fee to “buy him back” again or something to that effect. The players wouldn’t necessarily have to move location but it would just be fulfilling the contract obligations.

I wouldn’t think so Mac , I would say the buying club would be fulfilling their contract by accepting the price for the player, if Barca can’t agree terms with the player after that it’d be a case of tough luck.

Fair point, but they could agree terms that they’re never going to honour as they know they’ll be selling the player back to the other club.

Should it not be “if I were” rather than “if I was” though?

Gabby Milito has been released by Barcelona.

Arsenal to reject latest bid from Barca for Cesc. This is possibly the most annoyingly drawn out transfer story in a long time, even more so that Ronaldo to Real Madrid.

I think MIlito might have returned to Independiente but my Spanish isn’t all that so can’t confirm.

Copy it into translator service.

He has gone back to independiante alright. He was a fine player for Zaragoza but was shockingly inept for Barca at times after he came back from the cruciate injury, in fairness give the high line that Barca play and his lack of gametime he was never really going to discover his form of old. no real loss, says it all when Abidal and Mascherano were seen as far better options at centre half than him last year

Lukaku looks like he’s going to Chelsea. Anderlecht meeting Chelsea at the moment to agree a fee.

Spurs are close to getting L Diarra and Adebayor - the latter on loan.

Two good signings for Spurs, surprised to see City sanctioning a loan move to a side like Spurs though.

City win Sneijder race - report

Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder is destined for Manchester City, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.[indent=1]http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/images/2011/0805/wesleysneijderback20110731_275x155.jpg

Manchester United appeared strong favourites to sign Sneijder with managerSir Alex Ferguson purportedly making the Holland international a top summer transfer target as he looks to bolster his creative options in midfield.

But Gazzetta dello Sport claims Sneijder will play his final game for Inter on Saturday, when they meet rivals AC Milan in the Super Cup, before joining City for a fee of €36 million on a salary of €6 million a season.

Newspaper reports in Italy this morning that Sneijder has been sold to Man City.

EDIT MBB got there first again

Would be a wonderful signing for City.

City are denying the story however.

Diarra to Spurs confirmed.

Pastore to PSG was finally confirmed earlier.

Carew has signed for West Ham.

Lukaku to Chelsea confirmed today also. And that Zhirkov move to the long Russian team went through also.

Derry City’s James McLean has agreed a move to Sunderland

Anyone know much about him

What is the fee for Diarra?

What is the fee for Pastore?

McLean wasn’t too great for the Airtricity League last weekend but haven’t seen much of him Bill. He’s a left winger with a bit of pace and can come inside and shoot with his right too.
