He said this morning (circa 9.15am) he doesn’t expect anyone to leave but he’s clearly talking shite. They’ll both be gone soon, both have been left out of the squad for the Newcastle game, Cesc as he lacks match fitness and Nasri as he has an illness. You couldn’t make this shit up.
I’m seriously starting to think Wenger is losing touch with reality.
If the Cesc deal does happen to collapse for some reason - does he really think he’ll get the best out of the player this season. Just let him go home FFS
This is pretty much what happened last Summer remember? Its time for Arsenal to cut his losses, which I imagine he planned on doing anyway this season. The Nasri City thing though is a sucker punch.
If Fabregas and Nasri aren’t in the match squad for Newcastle tomorrow Whinger is really talking sh1te. He would have had to submit this already, the starting team doens’t have to be submitted til before kick off however.
Arsenal’s biggest problem is that the financial side of the game has changed so much in the last ten years. They set out to build the Emirates with a view to being able to compete at the top level using the self sustaining model, this model has been largely made redundant by the benefactor model (or be commercial juggernaut like United) and they just can’t compete. Gazidis said as much the other night in a Q&A with a supporters group.
They’ll be in a better position when a lot of their commercial deals expire in 2014 and they can renegotiate the poor deals the entered but will still be way off United, Chelsea and City.
Don’t get your point? They’re not in the squad, he already said this this morning. Cesc isn’t match fit and Nasri has an illness. That’s the official line anyway.
Well Fabregas is on his way to Barcelona to sign anyway.
Interesting point on the Arsenal commercials Tinnion. I don’t buy into the whole “model club” stuff that used to get said about them, largely because they were using their financial muscle to buy young talent as opposed to developing it all themselves. But they have been burned by the wealthy owners structure that allows Chelea, Man City and the likes of PSG and some Russian clubs to blow everyone out of the water.
Only the really big name clubs like Man United, Barcelona, Real, the Milans and Bayern to an extent have been able to live with that though Juve should be able to join that group soon if they sort out the playing side which they might have done this summer.
If US Soccer expert Shaka Hislop is to be believed apparently Robbie Keane will be telling all who listen how he supported LA Galaxy as a young boy. Tallafornia abu
