2012 BDO World Darts Championships

Top darts by Deano to take the set with 160 outshot.

Uncharacteristic lapse earlier by Crofty on commentary by the way. He stated that no player who reached the final for the first time and lost has got back to the final the next year since John Lowe in 1979. Thatā€™s not true as Ronnie Baxter lost his first final in 1999, that classic 6-5 battle against Raymond van Barneveld, but got back to the final in 2000 where he was the victim of that never to be forgotten 170 checkout from Ted Hankey. Surprised at Crofty but even the very best can make mistakes.

Deano make hard work of closing out the second set but finally did it. 2-0.

Joey ten Berge pulls a set back.

And a 12-darter from Joey now.

Great honesty by Deano calling the correct score of 40 when the announcer called 57.

More outstanding sportsmanship as Dean informs Rab Butler that he has overscored him. The honesty amongst the players is a true example to other games. And itā€™s 2-2 in this set,

Well done Dean, hard luck Joey, another outstanding match and outstanding camaraderie at the end between the lads.

Youā€™d have to say the whole championship so far has been outstanding in fact.

Another spellbinding evening of darts.

ā€œI would not have been able to sleep tonight if Iā€™d played on and won that legā€, said Dean in the post match interview.

Youā€™d hardly know there were amateur darts on this week, there hasnā€™t been a mention in any of the media outlets of the bdo lakeside tournamentā€¦

ā€œI have been playing darts for around four years and this is going to be my first time down at the Lakeside,ā€ he told Advertiser Sport. ā€œItā€™s all progressed from when I was out shopping with my wife, Claire, and she said I should get a dart board for the spare room."

Just read an article there about Gary Stone, who the bdo tards were falling over each other praising. He trashed some other minnow in the first round and is now playing and likely to beat bdo poster boy and chairman grizzly adams in the 2nd round.

Stone is a 30yr old hun who first started playing darts 4 years ago at the age of 26.

Look at this, the man is a disgrace, professional my arse

Does anyone have the order of play for today? I think the Hankey-Waites clash is on Wednesday. Itā€™s probably the biggest game in the history of darts yet itā€™s only a last 16 clash. That proves the strength in depth in the BDO.

Whereā€™s Tony Fleet?

The darts has been cancelled due to nobody watching it, sorry mate.

Wolfieā€™s natural warmth comes shining through in that interview. And itā€™s no surprise that a thorough professional and family man like him is not a gambling man. He already has it all, so what would be the point in gambling? Got his prediction on the Robbie Green-Darryl Fitton match wrong mind. Just like me. Like with Crofty last night, Wolfie and myself prove that even the best get it wrong.

Lovely segment on the same clip where Robbie Green and Darryl Fitton talk about that special feeling they get every year when they drive through the gates of Lakeside. I knew Kong was a big Liverpool fan but didnā€™t know Darryl was too. They attended the recent match against Blackburn at Anfield together. Sums up the philosophy of the BDO that the two lads knew they would be up against each other at Lakeside but didnā€™t for a second let that get in the way of their friendship and mutual love of LFC.

Liverpool FC = orange club,KOP = King over Pope!
