Harsh call against Ferris but we can have no complaints, we had it won with 10 to go and fucked it away
That was the sickest piece of refereeing iâve ever witnessed.
It was reckless at a time you shouldnt be reckless. Silly silly silly.
Murray the best Irish player for me though I thought Sexton, OâConnell and Heaslip were very good.
Defence was atrocious throughout. Just gave up soft yards constantly. They bullied us in the backs again. Pack did fine and were generally on top I thought.
I think it was a shocking call for the last penalty though.
Undignified response from the Irish crowd to a very brave call by the ref. Hope weâll see some bans after this.
Can someone tell me what the logic of kicking the possession away constantly is?
Letâs kick it up high and hope we can get it.
I think thatâs absurd. First of all it was a time when they were making 5 or 10 metres with every phase. Secondly I didnât see it as being reckless at all. It was just a good tackle that stopped the runner in his tracks. It was in no way comparable to the other spear tackles weâve seen recently.
I think Ireland were poor and only have themselves to blame but that incident wasnât the cause of the defeat.
Best was a machine today. He was my pick of the whole lot anyway.
Yeah would agree with all that other than Iâd exclude Bowe, Sexton and Kearney from blame. McFadden got blown away. Dâarcy had good first 40 but had a really bad second half. Gave them easy yards time and again as he was afraid of being trampled on. Trimble had a poor game but wasnât as exposed as the centre pairing.
Very harsh mbb. I donât think it was reckless and even if it were, we lost through cowardice and not recklessness.
I didnt blame Ferris for losing the game Rocko, just said it was very reckless to go for the big hit he did at a time when a penalty decides the match. The game was lost in other areas and Wales didnt rob us or anything.
Thought Kearney certainly had a good game and Bowe did fine though not his greatest game ever. But in general terms they just put big guys running at our backs and they ran over them all day. And they did the same in the world cup.
FFS, these lads would want to cop the fuck on mentioning schoolboy players.
I donât see it as reckless at all. The way the tackle evolves is a reflection of the power of the hit, he doesnât set out to lift him and dump him or anything. Ireland needed a turnover at that stage anyway. Canât gamble on them missing a drop goal.
Jeremy Guscott calling the Ferris incident correctly
I hate Wales more than England after this with the sickening over celebrating,I hope the team plane crashes in a horrific fireball.
Agreed, he was always holding the Welsh player there was nothing wreckless about it. Harsh call but them the breaks.
Thatâs that for another year.
I think weâre all agreed anyway that we always looked capable of throwing the game away and we did that through really slack and casual defending.
Big question marks about Kidney now Iâd have to say. Gatland has done a number on him twice. It was a small thing but not sure why we brought OâGara on. Fair enough if Halpenny had kicked the conversion and OâGara was the better drop goal option but defending a one point lead youâd prefer Sexton in there for his tackling.
Hook has decided the problem was the Irish back row. I think thatâs nonsense to be honest. Roberts (again) and North murdered us. Pack were off the boil for a bit in the first half but we won plenty of turnovers and carried well when we did decide to keep the ball (in hand).
