2012 Six Nations

Talk now of it being in June or September. Why don’t they forget the fucking thing altogether.

Bit of fucking joke now. Just give us the points and forget about playing the game.

if the french are driving this indecision then fuck them, if its not a priority for them then forfeit the points and move on
looks awful for the sport

Right shambles all right. French club rugby should know its place in order of things. French Union look very weak in all this.

Why should the French Clubs bow down to a Union which is one of the worst run organisations in world sport? The FFR is a joke, you only have to look at their last two managers to see that.

The French are offering a September date for the refixture.

they are taking the piss. They cant hold up the whole tournament for the poxy french. Whoever runs the 6 nations should just tell France to fuck off and if they cant play it with in the allotted time for the tournament then Ireland get the points. Sure we beat them in the under 20’s so just give us the win and be done with it. French fucks.

March are never. IRFU rightly not playing ball with May/September request. Devalues whole competition this. Understand your point about union mbb and it is valid. Just frustrating that clubs are in such a powerful position. As much as I enjoy seeing Irish provinces do well in H Cup or whatever international rugby is where it is at for me.

Looks like March 4th

http://www.rmcsport…ande-le-4-mars/

The Six Nations Committee has set Sunday, March 4 the match France - Ireland postponed Saturday night. We do not yet know the schedule, it will be 16 h 15 (will of the committee in the Six Nations) or 15 h (wish of the FFR). The Six Nations committee must communicate officially in the evening.

That’s absolutely shocking, where are the organizers in all this?

If tv can dictate they play at nine at night surely they can also have a say here?

Edit- just saw Mac’s post. Some common sense at last.

Good. Thanks for link mac.

Don’t write off the French clubs potential for calling a strike based on the refixture yet though.

No idea how much truth there is in that link by the way. Never heard of the site before. Saw it posted over on boards.

Best course of action for all of us.

4th March it is, 3PM kick off.

Some joke, pandering to the French for fear that the clubs will try and exert some more financial pressure over there.

Even more ridiculous when you consider it was their (French Union not the clubs) idiocy that called for a 9pm kick-off.

How do the French clubs even exert so much power can anyone tell me? Is it purely down to money?

When you look at the Heineken Cup Role of Honour Irish clubs have won four of the last six tournaments and yet we’re being made to bow to these clowns. It’s like the FIFA situation all over again.

Hardly be many travelling over for a Sunday game.

The rugby set have been bowing down for years

Croppy Boy thinks because a few Irish franchises won the H Cup they should have more power in European Rugby than France. Jesus man apart from Toulouse, the French barely give a shite for the H Cup. The Top 14 is the be all and end all over there, the prize money for it dwarfs whats available in the H Cup. Irish Rugby will do what its told and like it.

And was it not French TV that called for the 9PM kick off not the FFR? I could be wrong on this, but I doubt it was the Union somehow or other.

No MBB I’m just wondering how they exert more power on an international competition.

Anyhow since penning that post I’ve realised that this is all part of the IRB’s strategy to diminish the importance of the Allianz Leagues.

Motherfuckers.

Ferris was in a bit of bother this week

From the Irish Times
http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/ireland/2012/0214/1224311746024.html
IRELAND RUGBY player Stephen Ferris yesterday agreed to be “bound over to keep the peace” after charges of assaulting two men were “left on the books”.
Standing in the dock of Belfast Crown Court, the 25-year-old Ulster and Ireland player agreed to “be bound over and keep the peace and not to be involved in public disorder” for a year in the sum of £500.
Ferris, from Chestnut Hall Avenue in Moira, had been charged with assaulting two men, allegedly causing actual bodily harm to Colm Conlon and one of common assault on James McGinley on September 27th, 2009.
Prosecuting lawyer Peter Magill asked for those charges to be “left on the books, not to be proceeded with without the leave of the Crown Court or the Court of Appeal”, an application granted by the Recorder of Belfast, Judge Tom Burgess.
Defence QC Liam McCollum said the rugby international was “obviously very sorry for what happened that night”, adding that Ferris’s brother had pleaded guilty to assault. At an earlier court hearing, David Ferris (28), with the same address at Chestnut Hall Avenue, pleaded guilty to causing Mr Conlon actual bodily harm on the same date.
In granting the binding order, Judge Burgess said it was a “sensible way forward” as having read the papers it was clear to him that David Ferris “instigated everything that happened”.
The judge also set next Thursday for the plea and sentence of David Ferris.
