Excellent half. Not a bad performer out there for Ireland. Back row have been tremendous. Some huge hits from Ferris and plenty of turnovers.
Earls has been really good defensively and the rushing from Bowe has them in trouble. Theyâll probably kick more as a result which is no harm.
Sextonâs garryowens have been inch perfect but will need to continue to be because theyâll attack wide off any loose kicks and our defence is grouped centrally.

Ferris and to a lesser extent Sexton have really led that defensive effort. Really intelligent play. France have looked quite predictable and havenât read us at all. Half time might give them time to do so though donât rate PSA.

It was a terrible pass, but the big man is having a fine game so far. Lets not get away from the point at hand though.
On the basis they got to the World Cup Final? They were beaten 3 times in 7 games in that tournament and 2 of their wins were of the narrow variety over Canada & Japan. They are not the second best team in the world. The only reason they were in that final, was luck of the draw and Alain Rolland making a balls of it and incorrectly sending off Sam Warburton. France lost to Tonga in the group stages.
Very harsh to penalise Ireland on that maul given how many players France had making contact ahead of the ball.
