2012 Six Nations

Iā€™m sure heā€™ll be able to play because he was fit for the World Cup game despite having a broken shoulder or collarbone.

Boom and Bandage knocks it out of the park.

That stings mate. As someone who made a mistake on the internet recently yourself I thought youā€™d have a bit more compassion :frowning:

Along expected lines

Mike McCarthy on the bench instead of Devin Toner, Dan Tuohy or Mick Oā€™Driscoll is a fairly shocking call imo.

I donā€™t know, McCarthy won a few caps before the WC and has been involved with the squad far more than the other three in recent times meaning that he is more than likely far more familar with the line out calls and what not. Wouldnā€™t say it is shocking, touhy might feel hard done by but the other two arenā€™t anywhere close to this level

:shakefist:

How dare you, MickO is the heartbeat of Irish rugby

Is he dead?

McCarthy is a cracking player. Not sure how much of him youā€™ve seen? Defo better option than Toner or Micko (assum your joking on him) and I think Tuohy cost himself with poor performances in Ulsters last few pool games in HEC, he was poor in those I thought and if I recall discipline wasnā€™t the best.

Do you folly da rugby??

I think your being a bit harsh on Tuohy dan. While discipline was poor against Clermont all right he was a very good performer in the pool. If discipline were the litmus test DOā€™C would never have gotten a look in for sure. Tuohy is also in excellent form at the moment and probably the most talented lock in the country with the exception of POā€™C. His tweeting yesterday has probably done his chances of getting a call up no good mind.
I find selection of Oā€™Leary over Marshall to be even more bizarre. Even if you compare and contrast their performances last weekend the difference between the two was massive.

Driving up for this game. Where is a good place to park close to the ground without having to pay too much for parking?

Near the church opposite Donnybrook bus garage. Or else Park & Ride from Red Cow and walk out from town / IFSC

Usually can park in Wanderers Rugby ground on Merrion Road for free. About 15 mins walk from there. You might be able to get parking around Clyde Road too, not sure if thereā€™s pay & display on a Sat though.

Sean Oā€™Brien out of the game on Saturday due to a skin infection on his foot. Peter Oā€™Mahony replaces him with the ultra consistent heartbeat of Leinster rugby Shane Jennings being called up to the bench.

Shane Jennings is fading a bit as a player. Not as effective for Leinster recently so Iā€™d be a little worried as to whether heā€™d add much impact off the bench. Bench in general is looking very light now.

This is going to be a very close game on Sat. The scots will definitely fancy their chances.

Shane Jennings is the man who makes Leinster and Ireland tick. Heaslip, Oā€™Brien or Ruddock would be nothing without Jennings doing all the donkey work letting them take the plaudits for their ball carrying ability. Probably the most underrated player ever to wear an Irish jersey.

He certainly wasnā€™t that effective when given his chance prior to the world cup for Ireland and could have no real arguments when he wasnā€™t initially selected. Iā€™d agree that he has been very important for Leinster, I just think he hasnā€™t been as effective in the current season and it will be interesting to see on Sat how he gets on.

Heā€™s certainly more of an out-and-out 7 than any of the other back-row candidates, if he comes on Iā€™ll be looking to see Heaslip and Ferris freed up a good bit.
