2013 Confederations Cup

Pretty sure he plays the majority of his career on the right of an attacking/front three. That is his natural position and where he excelled at Porto

4-2 looked marginally offside

Italy were much better in the second half.

Lot better 2nd half.when Italy tried to play football they got caught out at the back big time.two goals for Fred
4-2

True chewy but I reckon he would be very effective down the middle

But he isn’t and your talking through your hole

And your still a dick but that’s just the way it is…

would you ever fuck off you clown, how could you have any possible idea what his “natural position” is?

Brazil aren’t up to much to be honest, Scolari is a poor manager and has left a number of their best players at home. Three of Brazil’s goals were very questionable, didn’t get a second look at Dante’s goal but he looked offside, Maggio got the ball for Neymar’s free kick and Fred was marginally off for the third. We also should have had a penalty when Balotelli was hauled down.

Few positives in the second half:

  • When we started getting to grips with the game and keeping the ball Balotelli bullied Dante and Silva
  • Candreva had a really good game as did Chiellini in the heart of defence
  • Maggio did really well at right back after his introduction and De Sciglio was super in the second half

Diamanti, Marhchisio and Aquilani showed nothing tonight. Verratti will definitely be in Brazil next year if he’s fit so Aquilani will be very unlikely to go, Marchisio had a very underwhelming second half of the season at Juve and was dreadful tonight, in his defence he started out wide and then played in a two man central midfield which are not his favourite positions but you’d expect a lot more from him. He’s one who would want to up his performances as there are players there who could easily step in for him like Poli and Bonaventura.

Thought we defended reasonably well tonight, the goals came from set plays or losing the ball cheaply in the midfield area, they were not defensive errors that cost us.

Prandelli really needs to decide on a system, 4-3-1-2 is my preferred one, it served us well in the Euros and adds much more solidity to the defence and allows the full backs to venture forward. He also must start using De Sciglio on the right hand side of defence, we have some very good natural left backs available to us in Criscito and Antonelli who are on their way back from injury. The likes of Giovinvo, Gilardino and Giaccherini should see their international careers brought to a close after this tournament - we have some really exciting young attackers coming through like Borini, Destro, Insigne and Gabbiadini and we also have some other good attackers not here due to other reasons - Rossi, Pazzini and Cassano so there is absolutely no need for Gilardino and the Juve duo to be brought to Brazil next year.

You have to admire Nigeria here, they’re going at Spain and should have a couple. As it stands, Spain have one, and could have a few more. Quite an open game to say the least.

It’s a cracking game-only for poor finishing Nigeria should be ahead.

Vintage Torres.

He looks ill.

I heard that Jo was playing for Brazil last week.

Fucking Jo!!

Anyone know what was the spread in the Uruguay match pre kick-off?

Balotelli’s assist for Giaccherini’s goal last night.

I always thought he got a raw deal in the BPL, came to City at a time when if they had bought the real Ronaldo at the height of his powers he probably wouldn’t have scored given the luck they were having with strikers. Felt he did ok with Everton though or was I imagining that? Faldo?

Christ Nigeria will never score here.

Hahaha he did ok but the cunt needed way too many chances to score!i wouldn’t have been a fan to be honest…capable of great things but a bit lazy…

Balotelli joins Abate on the sidelines for the Spanish game. Talks we could go 3-5-2 for the game against Spain. I’d be happy with this.

Cesar gets down to turn Forlan’s peno round the post!
