2013 Confederations Cup

To be fair, they both started with 11, so thats a frankly stupid point.

So players being sent off never make a difference to the game you retard?

FFS, arguing that the 4-0 result wasn’t a fair reflection because they had players sent off is fucking dim, wit.
They attacked incisively at least 4 times and taught Italy a football lesson. It was probably one of the biggest hammerings ever dished out in a major final. They had been stale enough in the earlier rounds but cut loose in the final and had made Italy look foolish long before they were reduced to ten men due to panic with their substitutions such was the chasing they were getting.
I’d say it still hurts you even to think about it you weird man.
No they didn’t. The scored four goals against a tired and depleted sides. That’s the only time Spain have ever beaten Italy competitively in 90 minutes and they did it because we were jaded after having a days less rest than Spain. You can see the difference between a team who prepares honestly (Italy) and one that doesn’t in Spain. We had De Rossi, Abate, Motta and Chiellini carrying injuries into that final as well as having Cassano who did not have 90 minutes in him due to his recent return from heart surgery. Spanish players don’t pick up injuries or tire because they are juiced up.

We were the better team in the group stages at the Euros and were the better team in the 90 minutes last night. Whenever freshness and fatigue isn’t an issue we have the upper hand. Spain produce, 5 yard passing drones. They don’t produce independently thinking maestros like Pirlo, Montolivo and De Rossi.

Also, how are injuries forced by fatigue and injuries to do with panic? We made one tactical change during the game you utter spoofer.

Jesus christ

You’re seriously talking about taking performances in the group stages and the confederations cup more importantly than a major final and you’re using one extra days rest and drugs to explain away a humiliating trouncing for your team and I’m the spoofer?

And who said the Confed Cup didnt count? Let it go lads.

embarassing to see Brazil clebrating wildly the other night when the won that friendly game.
That Spain / Italy game last night was diabolical, 2 teams who just wanted to get the fuck out of there, i cant believe they made us endure extra time, most friendly games that are level after 90 just go to spotters if needed, thats what they did last year anyway in the Dublin tournament or the one they have / used to have in amsterdam
Brazil arent much really w/o Neymar, i predict they will be eleiminated at the QFs of next years competition.
Totti’s Colombia at 110-1 is looking a fucking cracking bet lads.

Italy 1 up in the 3rd place playoff. Astori with the goal.

Candreva is awesome.

Jesus Christ I cant believe there’s a 3rd place play off in this thing, what a crock of shit.

Read this and stop spouting nonsense.

Giorgio Chiellini insists “if there was a team that should’ve won tonight, it was Italy” after a shoot-out defeat to Spain.
“We are disappointed by the result, as we had confidence and knew the Euro 2012 Final was not really us,” he told Rai Sport after a 0-0 Confederations Cup semi-final.
“It was affected by a crazy fixture list, as you can’t have three days to recover from a semi-final to a Final.
“We were confident we’d have a good game and in all honesty it went better than expected, as if there was a team that should’ve won tonight it was us.
“There are regrets, as we should have been 2-0 up by half-time. Obviously as the energy levels drop and fatigue sets in, you can get sliced apart by players like Andres Iniesta, especially when losing Andrea Barzagli to injury.
“In extra time I couldn’t wait for it to end, as I was wrecked. The heat was incredible, we were struggling to breathe and could barely finish the match.
“It’s a shame and we go out with heads held high, but Spain should’ve been in that position rather than us. At the moment all we feel is frustration.”
Leonardo Bonucci missed the decisive penalty in the 7-6 shoot-out defeat.
“I tried to console Bonucci, but there are no words that can make a difference in these moments. Leo was unlucky, he took the responsibility and that ought to be appreciated. You can only miss a penalty if you take one. If Roberto Baggio could miss in a World Cup Final, then anyone could.
“Everyone is talking about Mario Balotelli, but Alberto Gilardino has been a reference point for many years and his movement helps the team. He was unlucky not to score, as he is usually pretty clinical.
“We were aware Spain were strong, but also aware that we could hurt them. Spain were frightened after the break and didn’t press us anymore, as they were afraid of our counters.
“We didn’t play catenaccio, as we created several scoring opportunities and moved the ball around well.”
Italy will face Uruguay in a play-off for third place on Sunday in Salvador. It kicks off at 13.00 local time, 17.00 in the UK (16.00 GMT).
“Now it’s unthinkable to prepare for another game in two and a half days, played at lunchtime in this heat. It feels like torture. The organisers have to look at the fixture list and consider the health of the players.”
“Before the Confederations Cup I said we should see this as preparation for the World Cup. We played Brazil without Andrea Pirlo and Daniele De Rossi. Today we deserved to win against Spain, so there is clearly some growth.”

1-1 through Cavani.

Unbelievable save from Buffon with his feet.

Great free kick from Diamanti restores our lead.

Another great free kick results in a goal. 2-2, Cavani the scorer.

The Brazilian national anthem is superb.

That is an unbelievable rendition.

Fred!!
