2014 Club Championships

Unfortunately that can’t happen because the divisions are still linked to the co championship. This was spoken about last year very briefly when the board were discussing the senior format. As things stand the intermediate championship is going to be much better than the senior with any of the 7 thinking they can win it out. Not much you can do with 4 senior sides(and possibly only 2). Personally I think the two sides would be mad to self relegate as I wouldn’t see them coming back up any time soon. That said you’d imagine they’ll be in the relegation next year anyway.
That’s the main issue alright but often clubs don’t help by wanting to play ‘b’ or claiming that if they are put up to ‘a’ they won’t have a team.

There’s also other issues than this. One example is Arravale. Got to a county minor A hurling final three years ago yet couldn’t field at under 21 this year. Also talk of two more senior teams in the division dropping down to intermediate for next year. If that happens you would have only 2 senior teams and 9 intermediate sides.
Mullinahone and Nenagh played in the minor final three years ago

The West SHC should be a straight final between Eire Og Annacarty and Clonoulty Rossmore. Anything else is a waste of time.

@Il Bomber Destro I missed the Ulster final yesterday, was out all day. Just reading some of the comments there and match reports, there were a lot of Bradley’s on the Slaughtneil team, presume they are brothers/cousins? And are they related to Eoin, Paddy etc?

No relation to the Bradleys of Glenullin as far as I’m aware. Not sure on what link they are to each other but I’d imagine they are a mix of brothers and cousins.

Purposeful start from Kilcormac/Killoughey wih two points inside the first minute.

A beautiful day for hurling.

Biffos doing ok here. Colin Fennelly looking dangerous though.

Ballyhale should be ahead but have been rather profligate. Shefflin is barely in the match.

Ballyhale don’t seem to realise that they’ll have to battle to win this game.

Biffos lead by two. Shefflin not at the races so far.

K/K are dogged. Balyhale will need goals to win this

Trademark TJ Reid sideline one-two point there. And Reid now levels it.

Moteligo are looking good against @Turenne’s crowd in the Munster junior

Shefflin scores his first point and the rain arrives at the same time. How appropriate.

Weather conditions appear to have deteriorated somewhat.

Downpour in Portlaoise as the camera struggles to follow the action.

Jaysus TG4 obviously hadn’t bargained for rain today.

Tg4 and rain were never a good partnership. Surprisingly enough.
