No wonder admission is so cheap.
He’s done both of his cruciates. You could actually see the knee popping back into place as it happened. I suffered a similar injury to that back in 2008, had a pass played behind me and stretched my leg out for the ball when their carthorse of a centre back came right down on top of my knee. Two big pops and that was the end of that for me for some time.
As in his ALC and MLC?? Poor cunt…
I think he did his PCL and ACL - if that is possible (I’m going on his ambiguous message on social media). Hard to see him recovering to the same level with that, the blunt trauma cruciate ligament ruptures are the most serious as Dr Ray Moran informed me.
PCL can be awful. Varying degrees but usually only seen in car crashes.
My understanding was PCL was not as serious as ACL and generally has a quicker recovery timeframe, seems to be a lot more uncommon though.
I was involved in a PCL rehab last year and we got the player back in 5 weeks. But with my research on it i found guys who never walked properly again and a few retirees. So its very varied compared to ACL. ACL is 12 minths really if the athlete has any sense.
People will boast about being back on the field training in 4 or 5 and playing in 7 or 8 but i don’t believe thats ever enough. I think its 9 months before you can do a real pre-season. Which would be minimum 8 weeks.
So many are rushed back by irresponsible coaches and egotistical players/physios/strength coaches. Not worth it.
Yeah, quite a lot of players seem to be back after ACL injuries in 4-6 months now which is far too soon.
Conor Clarke was back playing 5 months after doing his ACL and looks completely finished as a county player now, did his medial ligaments in there a couple of months ago too.
Falcao is an obvious example in association football.
I did my PCL a few years back, a horrible bastard of s thing, knee gives me a lot of bother to this day
Was it a jar or what?
Jarred my knee as I was turning, felt a pop and a lot of pain in the back of my knee, damaged cartilage and meniscus also
Too much jar I’d say.
Thats highly unusual. Was it definitely a PCL (Posterior Cruciate Ligament) or was it a Medial Ligament?
Jesus Kev give him some credit ffs, twas his own knee, he’d surely know what the injury was
Kev is about to get into his DeLorean and see for himself.
Yes Kev, was definitely PCL
People make those mistakes all the time. I meet people Nd could be with them 5 times and they are showing serious ankle immobility. And i might ask did they ever hurt it? “Nah, bot really”. Then one day they will go “oh ya i broke ma ankle when i was 14”. As if it couldn’t be an issue now !?!
People mix up and forget this kinda stuff all the time.
Notwithstanding as i mentioned, its usually a highspeed jarring that causes PCL’s. Its unusual is all. Hence why car crashes are the most likely place to find it.
Tyrone and Cavan SFC final replays both postponed.
