Ah yeah that’s great. Hope it goes well. Great to get there and be with him for it. It does mean a lot and they really get a lot of enjoyment and satisfaction out of it.
Same as my dad with the leaving. Straight out for his train at final whistle. Old school I suppose.
I was leaving after the 2015 semi final with him. Some other old man stumbled on the steps. I helped him down all the way. He was fine. Bit shook. Got to bottom and my dad was gone. For his train. He has no mobile phone so I rang home later and there he was.
The only lowpoints for me today were Aidan Tierney and his shit impressions on the pitch during the warm up and then John Spillane coming on at half time to play some maudlin’ song after the action-packed first half.
Tommy Ryan roasted Hanbury for a score just after he came on. Ryan has serious pace. Waterford needed to be doing a lot more of that in the forward line to trouble the Galway backs.
You omitted the all Ireland I notice? Ye drew with Wexford ffs and needed Galway to take out KK, Pat Horan won ye the final then. Was the softest ai ever after 89.
