2017 All Ireland Senior Football Championship

I didnā€™t think he ever saw AFL?

never played first team footy for the Eagles, but would have been training with the squad as a member of the team.

Kinda like the lad you have on the squad who will run all day and make the talented fellas feel bad about not trying hard enough?

Australia - where Irelandā€™s most talented young Gaelic football players go to be ritually slaughtered.

Jim Stynes - dead
Sean Wight - dead
Martin Clarke - Contracted Addisonā€™s Disease in Australia, will be bed-ridden for the rest of his life
Tommy Walsh - now has no hamstrings and is barely fit to be helped across the road by old ladies
Ciaran Sheehan - a contender for the 2020 Paralympics, perhaps
Ciaran Byrne - doctors asked him if his mutilated knee had been the victim of an ISIS terror attack
Sean Hurley - needs a hip replacement, currently waiting to see if his application for a free bus pass has been successful
Colin Oā€™Riordan - suffered a broken back and a punctured lung in a game in Darwin, had to be driven for four days across Wolf Creek desert-type country back to Sydney as doctors determined heā€™d die if he got on a plane
Cian Hanley - suffered a groin injury so serious he couldnā€™t go to the toilet for a year

Tremendous news, our best inside forward if heā€™s at his best.

Where did he play with EP? I know a couple of lads there, the whole WAFL hated that Eagles&EP/Freo &Peel move. Didnā€™t do them alot of good either.

I find the Aussies look for the wrong lads and then often put them in unsuitable positions.

Unless its a kinda 6ā€™5 type forward with a good boot the ideal place for an elite Gaelic Footballer in in midfield. They tended to think this was too skillful a position, but i just think in alot cases they were too lazy to coach them up a bit and a little bit of sport snobbery.

I hope he isnā€™t small

the usual half back position.

Iā€™d agree with you too. At least in the midfield or on the wings they have less of a man marking duty and can be more freelance in their movement, which youā€™d have thought would suit them better. Maybe they are afraid they wont get involved like that? who knows. But it seems that 90% of lads who go over end up at half back.

Iā€™d say once the current 5 year alignment deal is up, the clubs will go their separate ways. Whether WCE and Freo should have their own reserve teams straight up competing in the WAFL might be a better solution.

Ya the clubs bluff got called there is i remember correctly, they refused Freo/Eagles B teams so a deal was done under cover and thats what happened. EP were hated anyway i think but that increased it. Not sure anyone cared about Peel, seems like a fuck of a club. Anytime i went there they seemed all over the shop.

12 week ban for Kieran McGeeney.

Typical Northern bias.

What did he do?

Happened in the Antrim game. JMcQ was running the line.

I was doing the line once when a referee (who was a mentor for one of the teams) told me heā€™d shove the flag up my hole :hushed:

Sleazy Bastard.
