2017 All Ireland Senior Football Championship

Any time Tyrone are any bit decent they tend to not give a fuck about Ulster.

Incorrect, Tyrone have always given a shit about Ulster.

Incorrect. Down were closer to winning an AI in the past 20 years. Drawing and getting trounced in the replay is not closer than narrowly losing by a point.

The audit trail doesn’t lie.

It’s a hangover from most of the last millineum when they had little or no chance of winning the big show

It is, you fucking madman.

Lads I delivered the killer blow here, but decided against ruining the aesthetic of the fall by unloading the final blow. Let the man fall.

Similar to Oirish rugby football provinces prioritising the competition involving themselves, two or three Italian villages and a couple of regions within Britain when they’re not good enough to win the tournament covering the entire continent*?

*two or three Italian villages, ALL of Britain and France.

No it’s not. It loses all credibility.

That never happened

A draw is closer to a victory than a loss. If you don’t understand that there’s zero hope for you.

A hammering in the replay cancels out any credibility in the drawn game.

Doesn’t.

If a team draws a match and then is hammered in the replay you always get the sense that the drawn game was an anomaly

But they were ‘fleeced’ by the referee in the replay…

Your inferiority complex is becoming obsessive, get over it

Why the fuck would you give your all if it hampers your chances of the big prize ? You pace yourself to peak in August and September.

Unfortunately, Ulster is the only province that does not have a realistic contender for All Ireland glory this year. It would be brilliant if every province had at least 1 team with realustic All Ireland ambitions.

For that reason, I grant you the Anglo Celt will be a savagely sought after prize, as that is the only one that the 9 teams can realistically win.

Because they want to win it.

Listen you just don’t get it, unlike the other Provincial Championships, the Ulster Championship is not a mickey mouse tournament for a couple of teams to win in second gear no matter how good or bad you are.

You’re legislating teams getting knocked out early but the qualifiers aren’t all they’re cracked up to be either - if you look at 3 of the last 4 sides to win the All Ireland coming through the qualifiers, they had massive scares in knockout games along the way. You don’t want to be in a knockout game in June or July now do you?

Tyrone in 2008 had to limp over the line against 13 man Westmeath and were losing until Westmeath imploded midway through the second half.
Kerry in 2009 had to thank Sligo for missing a penalty in the dying minutes which would have put them out.
Cork in 2010 had to scrape past Limerick after extra time.

You don’t want to go the qualifier route because it’s last chance saloon and if you’re not firing on all cylinders you will pay the price. Most sides who will have won through the qualifier route will have had a few scrapes along the way. It’s easier do it by winning your provincial championship and Ulster is very tough to win and very draining.

Kieran Bergin switches over to Tipp footballers - They won’t be stopped.

Oooooofffffffttttttt!
