This has been a pretty bloodless victory for Monaghan in the second half.
In truth Down were hanging on in the last 20 minutes of that Ulster semi-final, and the difference in C&S has been very apparent since half-time here.

Thatâs a very good win for Monaghan to set them up for a quarter-final tilt at Dublin or Tyrone.
For me theyâre going into this quarter-final in better shape than in 2013, 2014, or 2015, with a number of successive wins under their belt to build momentum.
I think theyâre better off not having contested an Ulster final this year. An Ulster final is a huge deal for a county like Monaghan, win or lose.
Win it and it interferes with the preparations for the quarter-final and thereâs a subconscious feeling of being happy with their yearâs lot. Lose it and has a very dejecting effect on them.
I still wouldnât expect them to have enough to really threaten Dublin if they play them, but they have come very close to Dublin in the league on a couple of occasions, notably this year in Clones and the 2015 league semi-final.
Theyâd love a crack at Tyrone with the boot being on the other foot to 2013 and 2015.

Division 3 Armagh going up a level today against a Kildare side who will be operating in Division 1 next season. It would be a real giant killing act if Armagh pulled this off and a blow for the little guy. The sides that theyâve beaten in the qualifiers so far are in or around their level - Fermanagh and Westmeath will be in Division 3 with Armagh next year and Tipperary just pipped Armagh with the last kick of the game for promotion to Division 2.
If Kildare perform as they performed for the second quarter against Dublin theyâll win this. But thatâs by no means certain.
Iâll go for Kildare by about 4 or 5.
