Right so they’ll have to rotate him between fb, ff and midfield. If they have time maybe a spell in goals as well
Jim McGuinness: Mayo’s collective will prove hard to stop (via @IrishTimes) https://www.irishtimes.com/sport/gaelic-games/jim-mcguinness-mayo-s-collective-will-prove-hard-to-stop-1.3193615
I wonder are they afraid to move him forward as it might be seen as an admission they got it wrong. Same as for the next game, will they double down and “back him” there again as a show of confidence.
Jim wants O’Shea to burst forward on the overlap when Mayo break. His GPS vest would blow up before half time.
I think theyll change him back up the field. Rochford likes making a call for a big game. He’ll move AoS back up the pitch and wonder why there is less space for the others.
Basically, I think they’ll both try to fix the fuck ups of Sunday and the game will revert more to type(or what you might expect), with Mayo’s forwards struggling more to score from play and Kerry not leaving acres of space in their own half.
I presume he will go to midfield first and to the forwards when/if Mayo are struggling… You can’t be throwing him straight into the forwards, like.
You said he was finished. 2 months later he was picking up another All Ireland medal and cementing another All Star. Three years later, he’s still producing the goods after you told us he was finished.
I have been very reticent to write Mayo off this year despite their poor form. In fact I’ve tipped them to win every game so far. The age profile of both Kerry and Mayo’s squads are not encouraging. I would definitely have Tyrone ahead of Kerry at the minute as I would imagine most knowledgeable football fans would.
Twee klaxon lads, this might only be for the muldoons and roasters

Ah it’s a grand bit of fun - Kammy is box office.
I’m a muldoon, I enjoyed it bro. Inis Oírr looks magnificent.
I think the big problem for Tyrone is they haven’t dealt with being favrouites in a big game against the other top four sides. I think they’ll beat the dubs. I’ll fancy them to beat kerry but I reckon they could lose to a written off mayo team.
If Mayo get past Kerry, they’ll be far from written off.
You know Brolly wrote an article for Sunday’s paper in which he specifically advocated putting Aodhan O’Se on Donaghy?
Why on earth would you take Harrison off Geaney?
Mayo are constantly written off. They were a wild price last weekend and 2/1 again this weekend. It’s absolutely nuts. I can’t understand they should be 11/8.
But if they get past Kerry, and face Tyrone, they’ll be meeting a side they beat in the semi final 12 months previously. They may not be favourites, but they won’t be written off, thats for sure.
So if you tipped them to win every game thats the bones of 40% wrong
They drew with the dubs last year and pushed them to the pin of their collar in the replay. Yet we’re rank outsiders versus an average kerry side.
The just about got a draw against that average Kerry side last weekend. Kerry with more to improve on you’d feel.
Thats Kerry in the semi final though, you were speaking towards them being written off in an All Ireland Final against a Tyrone side they kept at arms length in last years semi final.
They were 5/2 last weekend to win.
