Iād agree with this.
No need to tell us twice that Tyrone need to stay in the game as long as possible, mate.
Iād third this and referred to it on Sunday. @flattythehurdler took grave offence at the time and warned me to stay off GAA threads.
I fourth this.
Lads yer insane, Maurice is the best in the business, loved everywhere he goes for his cheeky chappie smile and happy go lucky demeanour.
Oddly enough I would think Tyrone would like to get a 10 point lead after 10 minutes and maintain it .
I thought he got the black card decisions spot on.
I am not saying that you are such a person but it really annoys me when people scream āthat has to be a black cardā without them knowing the actual rules for issuing one. The rules are very specific and just because a challenge may look cynical it doesnāt necessarily mean it is a black card.
The problem is when you go back and find he gave BCās in other rounds
Jim Gavin v Mickey Harte
2017: Dublin 0-10 Tyrone 1-7
2015: D 1-9 T 0-12
2014: T 1-15 D 3-10
2013: D 1-14 T 0-18; D 0-18 T 0-17
Gavin +0-1
When two full strength or near full strength teams go at it full throttle in the league, itās usually a pretty good guide as to how they will match up against each other in the championship.
Dublin and Tyrone have done it five times since 2013.
As I noted last week, Mayo have beaten Kerry in five of their last seven league meetings with one being a draw.
Kerry may have eked out that extra-time win in 2014 but three times Mayo have been the better team in the championship against them.
Mayo thrashed Dublin in the league in 2012 and went on to beat them in the All-Ireland semi-final. But they are yet to beat a Jim Gavin-managed Dublin team, despite coming close a couple of times. And so it has followed in the championship.
All the signs point to a very tight contest between Dublin and Tyrone with no more than a kick of the ball in it at the end.
Mulgrew for McClure.
Iād be sceptical as to how much emphasis can be put on league games played mainly in the muck of February and March when assessing prospects for the real business of an All Ireland semi final on the last Sunday in August.
Dublin still had ganja floating in the system when they played and drew in the league. Now that theyāve planned to peak around now, it will be fascinating to see what they bring to the game (cc: Jim McGuinness)
I feel that not even looking into the crystal waters of Kowloon as dusk falls will enable anybody to predict the outcome of this clash with any certainty.
Mickey Harte is 100 times the tactician Jimmy fancies himself as. No doubt MH has a plan alright. I just hope Jim has a fookin process
Jim has this game in mind 6 months. Heāll have a plan and line up that could be markedly different to what weāve seen so far. I am fully expecting to hear the crowd booing before half time as Dubs retain endless possession in front of Tyroneās blanket.
Harte is a planner, not a tactician. Takes him fucking years to get it right.
He is regularly found out when curve balls are thrown.
There is Plan A and Plan A.
Its served Tyrone well but its one of tge reason they have not been comsistent.
McGuinness the same mind you. Both are control coaches.
Yeah, it took him years to win an All-Ireland each time at minor, u-21 and senior.
Yeah could see he was preparing during the Monaghan match alright. really looking forward to this now. Shocking that weāre waiting since the league final for a decent game*
Iāve been flipping and flopping on this one. Up to today I just couldnāt see that theyād beat us. Got the wobbles today and now Iām unsure.
Donāt think he should start DC. For two reasons. 1) cunt needs to learn a lesson and 2) the lift that fucker will give and the noise should we be a couple down and he comes on to save it would be worth it. Heāll probably name him though
- probably not a game for the purists, but at least we wonāt get it all our own way type of game
Disagree but in saying that he has had a few years to figure Jim and his ways out alright
