2017 RBS 6 Nations

They were way cuter :joy:

Is that a young George Hook?

I’d love an Arsenal Fan TV equivalent in rugby football.

Fionn from Skerries - “He was an exceptional coach but he’s done, he’s finished. It’s the same facking thing year in and year out under Schmidt.”

Yes, some Irish ambitions of featuring for the British Lions in New Zealand went up in smoke tonight and some Welsh were rekindled. I won’t comment any further on selection until after the dust has settled on the Calcutta Cup/Championship decider at Twickenham tomorrow.

@Carryharry would be an ideal candidate if he had a grasp of either game.

I’ll leave that one to the knowledgeable about tactics rugby football posters.

As I said on another thread, rugby seems to have largely degenerated into a World War I trench warfare type game, especially when Ireland play in the Six Nations, and especially when they play Wales.

To my spoofing eye, they don’t spread the ball enough at pace, and their angles of running when receiving the ball as well as the support play for the next pass are not good enough meaning they find it very difficult to penetrate a well organised defence.

But I wouldn’t like to try and run through Jamie Roberts either, the steroid-addled freak.

Also, we’ve a lot to work on at the breakdown and set pieces.

Marmion looked a considerable downgrade on Murray.

No Words Needed: Croke Park 2007

RTÉ 1 next Thursday night, lads.

A draw in the Calcutta Cup tomorrow and a bonus point win over England (denying England any losing bonus points in the process) can still see Ireland win the Championship.

Hard to believe it’s ten years since we matured as a nation.

You cant play attacking rugby without a center partnership with good hands…who are capable of deceptive original offloads.

Joe Smhidt will be sickened with his set piece as thats what he has banked on since the backline flair left the Oirish with O’Driscolls retirement.

Regardless of that as an Irishman I cant support this team who refuse to sing our national anthem…but that’s for another day.

Brilliant, pal.

Even when Ireland were really shit we always had a jinky or fast winger that would run around a lad rather than trying to run straight over him.

We need Keith Crossan back.

Ireland need to stick to process

Simon G was the best in 90’s…no one would catch him…but he could only run one way…straight line

And there wasnt much hope Elwood would pick him out with a Garryowen or a cross field kick.

Wooden spoon is Oireands level really historically.

Bar the bandwagon, no one watched the 5/6 nations let alone talked about it 20 years ago

Ah, Kilkenny had us goosed after 10 minutes in that one.

Now, if it’s a documentary on the semi-final v Waterford, I’d watch alright.
