2018 All Ireland Senior Football Championship

A handy enough one for us

Home advantage for Kildare is a big boost.

Armagh Clare the draw of the round there. The rest are predictable.

Mayo
Clare
Monaghan
Tyrone

I think Kildare could cause Mayo problems particularly if itā€™s in Newbridge.

Its all so pointless. Thereā€™s still something like 22 matches to play off before we get to the inevitable Dublin v Kerry final.

I assume the Cavan Tyrone game will take place in Clones with Breffni out of commission at present.

What is the problem with Breffni ??

Relaying the pitch I think.

Youā€™re right. They should do away with football altogether bar those two counties. Narrow soccer down to Brazil and one other, same with rugby and the All-Blacks. All these games are just a pointless waste of time.

Surely Conleths wonā€™t be allowed host that game.

It should be moved to Portlaoise.

Nowlan Park

Newbridge is probably the worst county ground Iā€™ve been to, actually maybe only second to Drogheda from the ones Iā€™ve been to.

How many players have Cavan got banned for this?

Just go back to straight knock out. If youā€™re losing by 17 or 18 points, you donā€™t deserve another day out. Straight knock out heightens the chances of toppling the superpowers. Every change to hurling and football championship over last 20 years has loaded it even more in favor of Dublin and Kerry in football and Kilkenny in hurling.

The decade before the introduction of the back door in 2001 saw Down, Donegal, Derry, Meath, Dublin, Kerry and Galway all win the football and the likes of Offaly, Clare and Wexford win the hurling.

So youā€™re advocating 1/2 games a year for most counties?

We have had Galway and Clare win hurling AIs already this decade - Limerickā€™s 2019 win will see out the decade nicely.

2 at the minute. McVeety is arguably their best player at the minute.
