Theyā€™ve never performed that well in a final though. Two of those semi final exits were before they started dominating

Any All Ireland Final you win, youā€™ve performed well in. 5 from 5 wins in 7 seasons not to be sniffed at.

Well obviously theyā€™re a great team, theyā€™ve never shown their best in an All Ireland though

mark of great team, racking up Celtic crosses despite playing below par

Picking up Celtic crosses playing above par would be an even greater indicator of a great team

No it wouldnā€™t actually

Few teams rarely play in finalsā€¦

That makes no sense whatsoever

Heā€™s had some poxy run of luck over his tenure.

Today was reminiscent of the drawn semi-final against Mayo in 2014, and again it was Donaghy who did the business for him.

They were poxed in the replay and the final too.

Same against Tyrone in 2015 and Cork in the drawn Munster final in 2015.

Regular gimme quarter-final draws. Cavan, Galway, Kildare, Clare.

They got a lucky sequence of results on the last day of the 2017 league to qualify for the final.

Even when Kerry got the goal today, Monaghan made an absolute mess of an easy opportunity to go in front again.

I hope Galway v Monaghan is close and the teams play out a draw as payback for all Fitzmauriceā€™s run of good fortune.

It does, playing above your level means you probably got a bit lucky on the day. if you played at or below your level that day, you could well have lost
Playing below your level, and still winning, shows how good you really are.

All Ireland wins are the only currency that matter in Kerry. Anyone Iā€™ve spoken to from Kerry about him regards him as a complete failure with just 1 All Ireland from 5 campaigns and are just baffled as to how he got a new 3 year term after last years semi final replay debacle.

Consistently playing below your level on the biggest day would suggest that you maybe arenā€™t as good as you are thought of

They havenā€™t played below their level, stands to reason theyā€™ve met better teams in the finals.

Napoleon would love him.

David Clifford or con o Callaghan?

Dublin will not win the all Ireland with the fowards playing as they are.
Con has been poor all year, he looks like a lad who needs a break. Niall Scully is a hard working link man who doesnā€™t score heavily despite his two goals v Donegal. Mannion works hard but is not scoring and is terribly one footed. Rock is doing fine but does struggle to win his own ball when marked tightly. Kikenny is going well enough but can often be more linkman than scorer. This is not an all Ireland winning forward line.Kerry and Galway currently have stronger forward lines.

Fierce unfortunate how a second ball kept rolling into the field today as Kerry were preparing to take kick outs. Fierce altogetherā€¦

At one point the ball went out for a sideline and a second ball appeared from behind the goals :grinning:

You couldnā€™t be up with these Ulster boys
