Wore the 8 jersey in ‘74 as well. I remember him as the worst goalkeeper I’ve ever seen at international level. Seemed to have no goalkeeping instincts. Story was he was good pals with Cruyff, which was why he was chosen.
His son was also a professional footballer and he was killed aged 21 by a lightning strike while playing a match.

The art of being able cross a ball into the box is really dying out. None of the lads out there have put in a decent cross today. Even the goal relied on a balls up by the keeper.

Belgium rapidly becoming the Ireland Euro 2012 of this World Cup. Failed to qualify, supporters up in arms, but have the consolation that the two finalists qualified from their group.
Canada remain the only team to score against Morocco. They also scored against the all but impregnable Croatia. Astonishing firepower.
Trent is regarded as a suivant cause he can cross a ball. Denis Iriwn and Ian Harte would be worth 100 million between them these days
