Argentinaās midfield has been brilliantly functional. Iām beginning to think thereās a reason they went 36 games unbeaten before this tournament and are unbeaten in the five since their first game of this tournament.

Ah Argentina arenāt that good now. They made hard work of a poor enough Australian team, could have lost to an average Dutch team and did lose to the Saudiās. Steeped that Denmark 2021 werenāt in their round of 16 path and Brazil in the semi-final. Theyāve grown into it I suppose. Battled hardened in the group stages by near death experiences like the Liverpool Champions League winning teams of 2005 and 2019.

they had 3 or 4 disallowed goals against Saudi Arabia
They havenāt played a team with World Cup winning pedigree yet and theyāre in the final now. Theyāve had a softer route than Brazil in 2002. In fairness they are purring now though and theyād have a good chance of beating France in the final. Knowing their luck at this tournament it will probably be Morocco.
