I’d say hamman would be a good fella to go for a pint with

Sadlier is trying to spot a chance to be relevant and has gone all out on something that he knows feck all about.

Injured players want to play in big games? A junior C fella knows enough about that to talk about it

I don’t think you need to have played in a World Cup semi-final to know that you shouldn’t play players who aren’t fit to play.

They most likely knew he wasn’t fully fit but probably worth the risk. Maybe they thought it’s better to start him rather than have to bring him on and he break down then and they have 2 subs used.

Big difference between a World Cup semi final and Junior football.

Your better off starting them anyway and bringing them off than bringing one on and then off again as you’ve used up two subs then.

Same rules apply. An injured player will convince himself he’s fit to play a game he doesn’t want to miss.

This is incorrect. If you start them, knowing they may be injured, and have to replace them, your game plan suffers as does the mindset of the players around them.

naming aguerd and then having him not start does two things. the guy who actually has to play has 45 minutes or less of notice that he is starting a world cup semi final against France. A fuck up… no two ways about it.

Playing Saiss who couldn’t even run should never have happened. He had to change his formation to get him in there. Another major fuck up.

And taking a risk on a striker is different to risking key defensive players against an attack with explosive firepower.

Morocco lost any real chance they had when they conceded early.

this 100%… the cunt would rather start someone injured than me… it shows a massive disrespect to the squad

They gambled.

Gambling is for mugs.

it wasn’t even a gamble… Saiss was quite obviously fucked the first time he had to sprint. Did they even do a fitness test?

Infantino set to announce 2026 World Cup places for top teams in other sports

FIFA president Gianni Infantino is set to unveil plans to admit top international teams from other sports to the 2026 World Cup in an effort to broaden the tournament’s global appeal.

Infantino has been in discussions with top executives in other major sports and is expected to unveil details of the revolutionary new proposal before Sunday’s final in Lusail between holders France and Argentina.

The FIFA president is believed to favour a plan which would see the likes of the New Zealand All Blacks rugby team, the Indian cricket team, the Canadian ice hockey team and the US basketball “Dream Team” admitted as “wild card" entries to the new 48 team tournament to take place in the United States, Canada and Mexico in four years’ time.

More to follow…

Maybe so, but maybe a big occasion like that needs a talisman just to get the team through the niceties and the first few minutes.
Anyway, Morocco are an excellent side lacking an excellent striker. Shame.

No. Wasn’t he all set to play in '86 and either he got injured or Maradona didn’t
want him anywhere near the squad?
