A flash of the Barcelona of old clinches the other tie.
Far worse than 15 years ago anyway. Back then you had Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, AC Milan, Inter, Juve, Real Madrid, Barca, Bayern plus a bolter like Porto or Monaco 04’, PSV 05’, Dortmund 13’.
I can only realistically see Man City, Real, Bayern or Arsenal winning this seasons competition. And it’s a stretch to think Bayern or Arsenal will win it. Inter are probably the most dangerous darkhorses. Which seems strange to say about a team who reach last seasons final and acquitted themselves well.
Ah if you asked a 2009 aertel you would have a similarly small list. Easy look back rose tinted. Outside man city it is very much open. They are definitely colouring people’s opinions. Arsenal are top of the EPL and are touch and go here against a team with no hope of winning it.
Saka is a strong kid, a powerhouse but he doesn’t have the magic of the real elite wingers.

Lack of experience at this level seems to be blighting Arsenal. First season playing Champions League since 2016/17. They didn’t exactly set the world alight in the Europa League either. Losing to Olympiakos and Sporting in recent season. Similar to how Man City struggled in the Champions League when they originally entered in 2011-12 and 2012-13.
