Countless examples of this. Carra was spot on. You could cite Chelsea 2012 and 2021 as well, Real in 2000 (finished 5th in La Liga), Real were well off the pace domestically when they snuck a handy one in 2016 as well.

Remarkable, never played Champions League before this year at age 31. Scores equaliser in Quarter final against Athletico and scores opener in semi final against PSG. If it was GAA though, heād be confined to the scrap heap at the age of 31.
