A tour card will rule him out of that.
He looked a bit pissed the last few times I seen him playing. The amount of functioning alcoholics in darts is pretty high I’d say.
I’d say Mr Cadby could be after a few this morning.
The early start could catch out a few players.
On the board for 10am
Isn’t it a bit unusual there’s no top class Irish darts player ? It’s very popular in Ireland and a fair amount of pub leagues etc etcz
Catholics can’t throw doubles
It’s hard to make a proper go at it if you’re in Ireland. Without sponsorship you’ll struggle. Lot of expense in travelling over to the UK and Europe for the Pro Tour and Euro Tour.
If you get bate first round on the Pro Tour you don’t get any prize money.
If you don’t do well on the Pro Tour you won’t get into the spots for the majors. There’s 30 Pro Tours a season.
Radek Szaganski is from Poland but living in Cork. He picked up 16.5k in prize money in the season just gone. He’d be down money after all the travel and expenses so still needs a job. He’s driving for Bus Eireann. Willie O’Connor is #37 in the World and is still doing a bit of carpentry I think.
Dylan Slevin is from Offaly and I’d be surprised if he didn’t get a card this week. Jelle Klaasen beat him in the Irish Open final in Killarney. (Jelle got 4k and Dylan got 2k and that would be the biggest event in the Irish calendar)
Mike Flynn from Carrigkerry is a dark horse to get a card this week.
If you were going over this week and funding it yourself I’d say you wouldn’t have much change out of 3k.
Jesus Mike Flynn was a fine footballer. He’d have played minor football for Limerick I’d say
There’s very little money in darts unless you’re making the bigger tournaments, living out of a suitcase staying in some random Maldron or Best Western hotel week on week.Hard to give up the job to go full time for that tbf.Plus you need to be really really fuckin good.
He got a Junior A hurling medal this year
A dodgy past time if you’re hoping to make a living out of Darts
You need to be sponsored to make it/give it a go.
Even at that 90%are basically just making a living
Sherrock loses in Round 3 to “The Gambler” Graham Usher.
Steady for the day but not good enough to beat The Gambler
Chuck has been away from darts since pre Covid I think. Obviously a bit rusty.
Did Mike Flynn throw at all today?
Enters at final stage starting on Thursday.
Some very good averages there.
