It was close because Van Gerwen was abysmal on his doubles while Mensur had a freak amount of success on his own, that isn’t sustainable at that level. You only push Van Gerwen by matching firepower with him, there is nearly a 30% differential on the finishing if Van Gerwen had even 10% improvement on that it’s a 4 nil whitewash of sets.
