Hard luck Magpie.
Too many loose throws to beat Dobey, showed fair mettle to win those 2 sets tbf.
Dobey and Michael Smith strike me as two lovely down to earth fellas from Northern England.
It’s a pity Willie didn’t get Peter Wright in the second round - he hit an 83 average against against Jim Williams.
Michael smith is a very nice fella. Dobey comes across the same.
Richard Veenstra sweeps the first set against Kim Huybrechts without missing a double. BDO quality.

Kim looks like a has Veen here but Richard is flying Huy. 6 legs to nil to the Dutchman.
Veenstra wraps up a 9 legs to 0 whitewash. After years dealing with the pressure of the Lakeside stage that was like shelling peas for him.
