Any chance she will win it?
Not many credible opponents as yet, but there’ll be a bolter.
He’d be aligned more with the right. The Gavin peppers of this world.
Mary Lou would have a great chance
Please let it be so. Just to see Shane Ross’ face…
Brian O Driscoll would go close alright…
The spectre of Tony Holohan looms out of the mist….
I can see it being left to Bertie and we all just deciding to get rid of it.
Jim Gavin is the man.
Catherine Connolly has a very good chance of winning this. She’ll absolutely tell you the truth about Israel and this will be a major campaign issue. She won’t target immigrants and will speak up for them. That’s all good.
The problem is the gaslighting bullshit about Ukraine and Syria she’ll throw in too.
It’s been a real damp squib of a run up so far but surely things are about to start moving a bit. The far right have so far not found any viable person. McRapist will not be a candidate and they’ll likely end up rallying around a decrepit old fart like Peter Casey again or somebody utterly repellent like Declan Ganley.
Who would be a possible winner for far/soft right? A kind of ‘decent country fella’ who ‘says it like it is’ type would surely have a chance.
Ryan Casey but he’s under the age limit.
Would Daniel O Donnell get it?
I don’t think so. If he said he loves foreigners but we have to look after our own people first in a nice soft voice he’d have a chance. The ‘but’ would win it for him not the butt.
Pat Ryan would be my choice (I actually genuinely mean this)
I note Catherine Connolly voted for Richard Boyd Barret as Taoiseach in 2’16
She also on the Aung San Suu Kyi train with Robbo.
Backed Clare Daly for Euro elections 2024

A communist?
She’d be a bad president for the views @Cheasty has pointed out and she’s also misguided/warped on the UN and anything related to security and defense. Even if Micheal D is misguided on some things he hasn’t left the reservation entirely and is smart enough to understand things.
Ah jaysus. Joe Duffy would be far better.
I think Jarlath Burns would be excellent at it.
Is it a man or a woman?
I wonder why the far right aren’t gaining much traction in Ireland.
