It’s relatively simple in my mind. They have to stop overpaying for players and more importantly stop offering crazy wages.
They’ve done that the last two summers. Next summer shaw, Maguire I think, Casimiro and potentially Bruno and mount will all be gone.
They’ll have gone a long way to sorting things then.
Obviously that includes Sancho and Rashford leaving too.
£60 million is now the starting price for a nobody, or an unproven player with potential.
Unsustainable.
It’s interesting as a load of attacking players have moved for 60-80 million. Cuncha, eze, jao pedro and a few more.
The complete outlier is wirtz to Liverpool for nearly 120 million.
Usually the market is similar for all these lads.
I was reading there it’s only something like £230 that Lego Head has recouped in transfer sales when spending that billion. It’s some level of financial backing over a near 6 year period with only an FA Cup in the summer of 2020, glorified Covid training matches behind closed doors that nobody really counts.

The only transfer we need now is Vardy to Celtic.
His first goal for them at Ibrox, and subsequent celebration, will be tremendous fun
I presume there’ll be massive bile and hatred at this Liverpool Newcastle game this weekend. Possibly one or two murdered going on previous. At which point both clubs will sit down and simply do the deal as they have no doubt agreed at this stage just before the transfer window closes.
Apparently he often played LW with the Brighton reserves because Aaron Connolly was favoured through the centre. It’s the equivalent of that Piroe lad at Leeds going to Portugal for a couple of years and scoring all around him before coming back to the Premier League for a massive fee. I’m not sure about him Bill. The Havertz injury helps him though. Wasn’t even sure he’d start regularly only for it.
