Jessies yard far from Bolger depths. A couple of nice touches landed last night. 4 winners in the last few days.
Iām not so sure on that.
Bolgers strike rate has been declining year on year from 14% in 2013 to 4% last year.
Jessie consistently hits a 12% strike rate. Shes a little below that so far this year, but could easily turn it around given her current form.
Sheās 1 group race and 2 listed races won this year after a lot of investment this year.
Sheās horses dropping 15 pounds and winning races.
Thatās not a sign of much. Strike rate can be very misleading.
If I was one of Jessieās big owners Iād be fuming.
Jim Bolger is owning, breeding and training his own horses. A different operation obviously and highly unlikely a man of his age would keep it up.
I talked to somebody close to Jessieās yard last night and they said itās a shit show. Iād believe it myself too. Some of their well bred horses are running sideways.
We havenāt seen any moved away yet and improve but that will happen shortly imo.

Both Jim and Jessie are very old now they must be both around mid 80s? Jim probably a bit older. Jim also canāt compete as heās not using drugs like some others. Jessie particularly the form of her yard fell off a cliff about 4-5yrs ago but think sheād also being going through a cancer battle at the time? Jimās decline been more gradual than sudden.
Biggest decline is using Rory cleary and Ross coakley. Cleary last year must have cost him ten winners. Ross coakley is ok but nothing more.
In fairness to Jessie she still has shane foley and young kenieth Kennedy Who I rate highly.
Think Jim is 82 and Jessie late 70s.
