A few token places given to rubby backwaters like Russia and Namibia and you have lads claiming it’s a global game. A bit of cannon fodder for the elite to stretch their legs

@gilgamboa and @ChairmanDan were talking about growing the game, seems a bit suspect in the light of this information.

I don’t know the reasoning but the world cup itself is the only time the vast majority of teams play on neutral pitches. So that may be it.

As you can see the ranking system got Ireland nowhere.
