Don’t get me wrong a legend of course but took a fair bit of criticism before eventually being sacked. One Scottish Cup isn’t much to the average Cellick fan.

The thread is; A list of Managers who took their teams out of the doldrums.

After Liam Brady and Lou Macari,Tommy reinvigorated Celtic, brought in brilliant players, played proper football and fans dreamed again. Great days returned and Parkhead, half built, was jumping.

Tommy set the foundations for Wim, with the help of Henrik, to win the league and the special one in a row season.

You could say Martin O’Neill did it too after John Barnes, Dalglish and Dr Jo but the crowds were still there during those years and the pressure was gone after stopping the 10.

Fair enough.
