No need to be like that mate
It’s true though man!
I disagree
Was there for limerick on 53mins, the had all the possession even after Larkins goal. They didn’t have the composure to see it home
Yeah. We’d hand them all back for some of that. Any time I say I loves me county I just feel so hollow inside.
Like there’s nothing there. The search for Kilkenny’s soul goes on

You joke, but this is the strong impression I get from KK lads.
In all seriousness, will KK perform better in the final? I’m asking lads like CLD and Fran, who might actually give me a serious answer, rather than Locke or Walsh, who will just talk through their holes.
Absolutely gutted after that one. Really believed when we went two up in the middle of the second half that we were going to do it. Even though the crowd was small enough there was some atmosphere in the stadium at that point. Haven’t seen any highlights or anything yet, but a few thoughts:
Goalscoring has been a problem for the last two years. 7 goals in the last 7 matches, 4 of which came against Wexford the last day. As a unit the forwards are probably a small bit one-paced, big lads who are fast when they get going. Another Mulcaheyesque player amongst them could offer a bit more movement, better ability to win breaking ball, perhaps Tom Ryan, Tobin or hell, even Cian Lynch could provide that.
In fairness the conditions were absolutely atrocious. I was down the front of the Hogan, right behind the bouncy, happy, leppity Limerick management team -a show in itself - and got saturated to Wexford Park '09 levels. In a ballsy move that morning I had decided on just the jersey and no jacket when tipping down to Croker. I wore more layers to the Munster Final and nearly expired from a combination of heat stroke and bad Heineken. I know we actually played best during the monsoon, but there were a lot of times throughout the match our lads were out in front and had to take the extra touch or two to get the ball, which prevented them from getting away from the man, Mulcahy in particular struggled with this. It kind of played into KK’s hands more I felt.
Criticism of O’Mahoney was entirely warranted from his performances earlier in the year, but it was back to vintage GOM today. Séamus Hickey and Declan Hannon, two lads who had absolute nightmares here last year, were both outstanding.
The shite-hawkery with the hawk was absolutely hilarious. I’d normally be of the opinion the GAA should steer well clear of any attempts at “stunts” or “entertainment” or Hector Ó hEochagáin or any of the rest of that nonsense and just stick with the tried and trusted pipe band, but this was comedy gold. You knew it was going to happen as well, the lad with the microphone and the smart-caz jacket and tv entourage, the officials in the middle of the pitch, all staring up at the gobshite standing on the roof and the hawk just ups and fucks off out over the Irish Sea. Magical.
I would whole-heartedly back Teege all the way for another year at the very least. Has had the team well prepared and to a level where we are genuine AI contenders. Obviously the lads need to go out over the winter/spring and figure out a core 20 player team that they are comfortable with using, the bench was very light this year and lightly used to boot. .
I think I want Kilkenny to win it out now, but I do think Cork will beat Tipp and then beat KK in the final. KK’s defence was phenomenal but Cork’s forwards will have that extra movement that we couldn’t throw at them today, they always seem to manage to avoid being dragged into a dogfight, which they wouldn’t have a hope of winning against Kilkenny. On the other hand Richie Hogan can do what he wants at the minute. Expecting two more cracking matches to finish the championship.
Disappointed but so proud of those 18 men who took to the field today for us. They left nothing on it. In the words of Richie Bennis: “they’d have died for Limerick today”.
funny seeing so many lads happy that the team lost but gave 100%
I’ll tell you what @Watchyourtoes. If I had the choice at this stage after following Waterford for a lifetime I’d prefer if John Mullane had won the All Ireland for Waterford and then announced at the homecoming on the Quay that actually he hated the county, he couldn’t stand the flat accents, the way we roll our rs, that nobody should have to holiday in Tramore, that draught was nicer than large bottles, that Locky Byrne was a Kilkenny man and that blaas were like balls of cotton wool. At this stage now, I’d trade one All Ireland for all of that I loves me county shit.
Wexford won more championship games than Limerick this summer
Meh, Laois won more Championship matches than both Limerick and Clare.
Davy Fitz is the man to sort out the Limerick fear of wining a game in Croke Park
But not more than Wexford
Not sure they lacked composure. I think the weather and the graft, made harder again by the weather, got to their legs. Maybe, as people have been saying all year, they didn’t quite have the bench. They looked nailed on at one stage, but kk were constant as ever. Limerick were great though, and it was a fantastic game.
Was I seeing things, or was one of the balls that herity dropped into the goalmouth actually going wide?
Whining a game would be his forte for sure.
I thought it was a very enjoyable game despite the terrible conditions. Great battling performance from Limerick, they won’t have many better opportunities to beat Kilkenny who I thought were rather poor on the day.
No, just the same as Wexford.
