All Ireland Final 2’19 - Kilkenny v Tipperary, a Traditional Final

:open_mouth:

We’re on the beer for the next year. We’ll give 2021 a rattle instead.

The gates are open for Wexford 2020.

Great to see Minister Alan Kelly waiting at the Burlington to cheer in the team when they arrived. Himself and his brother are the real winners today. Declan is fast becoming the Mr Kraft of hurling

You’d imagine that Tipp will catch Kilkenny in the hurling roll of honor now. I’d say they’ll do it in 20 years.

That was one of the worst hurling games I was ever at. I thought Huw Lawlor did a fantastic job on Callanan

Ronan Maher MOTM and HOTY for me, couldn’t argue with Noel McGrath either

Leix will have massive regrets today concerning the scandalous sending off in quarter when they had Tipp on the rack

Tragedy

That was some goal by NOM, didn’t see it properly at the time

The more you look at it the less convinced you become that Hogan even made any contact at all. Barret ducked in suddenly and pulled back just as suddenly, pure WWF style. It looked a rehearsed move on his part. If you do get a dunt to the nose you do not react in such an obvious theatrical way that Barret did today. I would like to see a photo finish type close up of the actual contact made

@Sidney’s account from Hill 16 will be the post of record of the day’s affairs as far as most are concerned as he will no dedicate ample time to painting a picture of the scene and the trappings of the occasion for which he has a most keen eye and a wonderful talent for doing so- he also has a lot of reference data from previous renewals as the equine folk would refer to,
To give due reverence to the occasion as it is a major national event like the FA Cup final that i do pause for i gave the game my full attention via television. it was the first hurling game i have watched in its entirety all year and it was a most disappointing spectacle ,
The amount of “talking up” and over analysis of a most simple game has been off putting for a traditional dinosaur like myself - i think it was 2013 when this phenomena went into being with the terms “matchups” been described to a corner back marking a corner forward and intense, epic ,battle , etc been used to describe even the most mundane of affair .
anyhow notwithstanding this i fairly through myself into the affair today in the hope i could redeem my flagging interest in a sport that i once loved but my disdain for the thing reached its nadir last year when having to to sit thru extra time in the cork limerick semi final was seen to me as an inconvenience rather than something entertaining - in other words i knew i was done…
i enjoyed the occasion today despite not been able to know the names of 3 players on each side- the game was poor but i felt it is my duty to ensure my son is aware of this game, its importance in our culture and the role it has played in irish life since the organisations inception. Maybe it is this that will keep me entertained and how we will chrish the “third sunday in august” … competitive hurling returns next june on a TV near me ( there is no club scene here to tempt me) …

im not sure tho if ill tune in

Delighted for the man, so honest and so unlucky with injuries.

This is a really weird ad. Ladies going on an absolute bender but it’s ok cos they’re ladies. And one of them is missing a tooth.

Hell be sitting there like a half cooked turkey making a mental note to drop any of the panel that dare to look like they’re enjoying their evening.

He’s done. No other Kilkenny manager managed to keep the job through 5 years of failure.

Be a brave man to tell him to fuck off.
