When I saw it live I immediately thought to myself that Hogan was at serious risk of a red but having seen the replay, it was a feather touch if there was any touch, and it looked like there was no touch at all - Barrett should be ashamed of himself - his aim was clearly to get Hogan sent off
Whatever happened to manliness in hurling?
It reminds me of Donegal’s John Cunningham’s unjust sending off in the 1992 Ulster football final
Oh fuck off sid. Classic trash talk of a ditch hurler. That was a right fucking belt. Hogan had the red mist descend, went to do him, and, as you’d expect of a man with hogan’s natural talent, speed and skill as one of the foremost hurlers of his generation, he did him.
It was a red all day long. Barrett had sold him a dummy and his head was turning left the force from the hit rotated Barretts head to the right. Hogan clearly tried to do him. Richie has been a brilliant servant to Kilkenny but he hung his teammates out to dry today.
I don’t think you’ve gotten the memo. It makes for great reading and is very witty when lads on TFK argue black is white based on what team they predicted or wanted to win.
9 defeats in 19 championship matches in under three years and a right few hammering in there as well. You wouldn’t even survive in Waterford with a record like that.
He could have easily issued a yellow and you well know it. Absolutely ruined the game. No one should be sent off in a final unless you’re a billion% certain, not least one of the best we’ve ever seen.
