Richie Hogan hasn’t been fit for a few years at this stage. Had a decent game against Limerick in the quarter final last year but hadn’t done a whole pile before that in 2018 and hasn’t done a lot since. Looks a lad almost in need of a complete break from hurling.

A fantastic player when fully fit but expecting an awful lot for him to turn on the form like a tap.

Didn’t he give up work in Dublin to concentrate on hurling, and hasn’t hurled since.

When I’ve seen Hogan recently its his decision making that let him down. He was still good for winning ball and getting on the ball in general

He’s started no game this year and one last year I think. It can be hard make good decisions when you come on as a sub in a game you’re losing or is tight. It’s grand if you come on in a dominant side.

Hogan is top class.

I agree with you. I’d start him every time for Kilkenny even based on what we’ve seen recently. He’s still getting on a lot of ball and winning it when he does play and based on his past you’d think the decision making will come

Kilkenny need someone to step up and score with tj. Hoggy and tj will score 20 odd points between them. Harnedy will score his 3 or four. Kilkenny will need someone to have a going day. Richie Hogan is the man. If he is going well I’d expect Kilkenny to win a very tight game.
