All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship 2016

the stats I gave were they lost 3 times in 17 years to teams who didnt score a goal. I am not sure that proves your point

I think that was a freak result in the MF…in fairness to Tipp tho…they can do that to anyone as in bang in the goals and really go for the throat when they see blood.

Hit them hard and often is the only job…I hope Galway flake the shit of the cunts on Sunday…

For me when KK play I like to see them scoring in total around 23 points. Do that and we’ll be hard bate. [quote=“gilgamboa, post:4936, topic:21107, full:true”]
Yep. Unreal record. Think thats a lot of my point. They dont concede goals so they dont lose that often.

The only AIF since 99 they didnt lose and didnt score a goal was draw v Galway. They have 27 goals in 13 finals they didnt lose.

Not totally.
Think about it.

If Waterford want to score a load of goals what do they have to do? Uktimately is leave themselves more open at the back. Then its a goal shoot out. Then you are even less likely to win as i think KK still have the size and power and eye for goal in a 15v15 situation they will open you up. At the moment Reid is playing way out the field because they need him. If they could leave him in there would be a way bigger threat.

Its tru what puke says, you need to be dominant when only scoring pounts, but thats what Waterford have been in 3 of their last 4 big games.

It proves it happens.

I’d love to see the stats on when those 27 goals over that period were scored.

That would be interesting…guaranteed there’s a correlation there too.

They should have won the last day without goals.

should have = didnt though

grand. Agree to disagree. i hope they prove you right.

Your point? I’m saying it’s not a ‘fact’ they need goals to win.

Sorry, 9 defeats in his 18th season of championship hurling[quote=“gaillimhmick, post:4943, topic:21107, full:true”]

Who said it was a fact? Its a probability.

So you think Waterford shpuld go man to man and have a goal shoot out with KK to win. Despite showing us the blue print the last day?

The big thing that has helped teams close the gap is intensity, fire and conditioning. KK, and ok they did have some exceptional players, always had more of that than other teams. Waterford have brought themselves to around that level.tactics and everythibg else go out the window unless you match that. And that takes time to build.

Not at all. Im just making the point that their best approach in winning the game e.g. what they did last week, just might not be enough if they cant score a goal. Thats all. If its not so be it.

high %age in first 10 mins either half? and plenty scored within few mins of each other too

Ya thats fair enough. I believe dufferent. I believe ability wise they are better than KK and its just a matter of belief and experience. I would be invlined to think last week had they lost would have fueled next year. But now they have gained that experience and belief in a week. And they have a clever man in charge who can explain that to them.

Has the 3 not been tested since he went there in the qualifier against Galway in Two Fourteen?

Barely a 50% record. Pathetic.
