The real threat to Limerick is the breadth of Galway’s scoring prowess. 11 starters scored the last day. Long range shooters from various places like Ronan Glennon, Tiernan Killeen and Tom Monaghan. Limerick’s physicality in the middle third could prove the difference. You could see the likes of WOD and Kyler timbering a Gavin Lee or Monaghan out of it. Limerick weren’t at their best in the Munster final or AI semi-final but still only conceded 2-17 and 1-19 respectively. Galway should exceed both of those tallies but Limerick just have a nose for winning tight games. I heard that they’re 18/19 in finals under Kiely. 5/5 senior All-Ireland’s, 7/8 Munster finals. 4/4 in NHL finals. Presumably the other two are the U21 finals in 15’ and 17’ although Kiely wasn’t over the latter team. The other side of this is that on the law of averages they’re due to lose one at some stage of course. I’m looking forward to a cracker of a final.

Fairly sure the other two finals were in the Co-op Superstores Munster hurling league, though I thought we may have won three of these under JK’s tenure.

The @limericks will reach the magical thirty point mark only to be outdone by wan-wan in the dying moments.
If a game of hurling breaks out Galway look like they have a right chance, but it may well turn into a pulling and dragging game with Limerick easing over the line. Have Galway anyone at all who can compete with Hegarty? None of their defenders look in any way suited to the role
I’d have to fancy Limerick seeing as they are better fair weather hurlers.
Galway might battle it out of a wet miserable day. But it’s looking less like that unfortunately.
