Allianz National Football League 2023

Yet again you’ve beaten the Dubs on the Internet. Congrats.

Its almost too easy at this stage, like a Dublin GAA official filling out a grant form.

If only it was so easy for laois lads to win on a real life actual pitch.

Deflection once again to hide the carryon of Dublin GAA. Nasty.

Obligatory “listen to the roar” comment from Marty.

Shite goalkeeping from Cluxton

Things have gone a bit pear shaped for Coach O’Rourke recently.

Meath are a division 3 team

Think the couple decent results they had early on will keep them up but their form is relegation form.

Fran from Love Hate finished that Dublin goal emphatically.

Meath, as I saw in the flesh a fortnight ago, are desperately limited. How they beat Cork away earlier in the league I’ll never know.

Dublin haven’t even been that good. About 18 minutes in before they got the ball into the second best forward in the country who duly fired over. It’s a fair achievement for Dessie to make a team containing him, Rock, Fenton and McCarthy so dull and workmanlike.

No surprise that Dublin only look decent when an O Gara is running the show up top

Harsh on Dessie. Rock is finished. McCarthy is nearly finished. The younger guys coming in are bang average apart from Gannon. O Gara showing some promise today but not sure he has the class to do it against a proper team.

I meant to type Kilkenny instead of Rock, apologies!

Still, Dublin have Con, Kilkenny and Fenton pretty much in their prime. That’s three of the best ten footballers in the country to build your team around. And there’s enough of a semi decent supporting cast to be much better than they are.

Wide open All-Ireland this year, Dublin will still be close enough to winning it.

Jesus but Meath are septic. McCarthy slalomed through there a few minutes ago, a Meath lad lepped on him dragging him to the deck where 2 others join in to virtually assault him.
The ref blows an feadóg and instead of the clear penalty gives a free out. Sympathy I suppose.

Marty and Maughan doing everything possible to avoid criticising their mate O’Rourke.

‘A bit of tidying up to do.’

Only the few things to iron out really……

Commitment, accuracy, conditioning, tactical awareness, kicking, tackling, channel runs, support runs etc.
After resolving these early season niggles there’s lots to be optimistic about.

I’ll go out on a limb here and say Dublin will win Leinster.

Let’s hope Armagh v Galway will be a better spectacle now.

We live in hope.

NFL Division 3 results.

Tipperary 0-13
Offaly 2-14

Antrim 1-17
Cavan 2-12

Oh no, Fitzmaurice on to read the deaths and shipping notices.
