Sounds harsh, but it was the correct decision to allow the 45 stand. Lane didnât see Fentonâs belt in real time so he cannot subsequently go back and award a free. He can deal with the player and restart where the ball last went dead, which he did.

He fairly bottled the extra time. There was about 10 seconds of play in the two minutes added on

Yeah, if he sees it in-play, itâs a free but if he missed it, he canât go back.
The scars from that and his 6 month suspension will be fascinating to observe
