Same here.
Good man Flatty. What vintage are you?
I was ahead of fordie.
A good bit ahead.
I ran into the dog days of the ghoul, who actually was far from the worst of them.
Who was that?
Legendary Christian Brother, Militant wing. An absolute gent whilst calm, but that worm could turn. Notoriously unpredictable and hard hitting. Lifted me off the ground by an ear once which tore at the top and still sits slightly askew. Matches the rest of my face that way.
Uggy was only a teacher. Bit of a mean streak in that man.
Oh yes. Black paddy was the most pessimistic man that ever graced a staffroom. Got the feeling his heart was in the right place. But he hated his job and quite possibly his life in general was a disappointment.
Has Tyson Fury got a mention here?
Not in this thread anyway.[quote=“GeoffreyBoycott, post:192, topic:19964, full:true”]

I wish to nominate three time world surfing champion Mick Fanning - born in Australia, but his parents are Irish, so he’s Irish. Survived being attacked by a great white in South Africa this year, last week narrowly missed out on a fourth world title hours after learning of the death of his brother. An all round good guy, class act.
I dunno Fitzy; FFS sakes, his brother died in tragic circumstances, and he still goes ahead and competes. Now you can call that “brave and heroic” all you want and convince yourself “it’s what he would have wanted” but the bottom line is he’s put personal fame and glory ahead of his own grieving, and the collective grieving with his family. A heartbroken family who were probably too preoccupied in planning a funeral to keep track of events in Hawai’i.
The shark thing was cool though.
I think his mother was there with him and told him to keep surfing.
You* think*? You’d wanna be doing a bit more than thinking Fitzy. This is the INTERNET you’re on, in case you hadn’t realised.
