Timmy McCarthy (down town)
He made an absolute cunt of joe molloy yesterday on the paper review. Molloy was waffling on about Johnny sexton (whoās completely finished as a rugby player) being key to the Irish team in the six nations.
Molloy put it to McCarthy you canāt take him off early in games. McCarthy replied he would if he was in charge. Molloy butted in with the auld you wouldnāt Timmy itās easy say that from the cheap seats etc etc.
Timmy wasnāt long firing back reminding molloy he managed his club and country and had made decisions on players of a similar profile on number of occasions.
Molloy jumped down fairly quickly with his tale between his legs with a throwaway āIām not so sure but weāll move onā. Great radio.

Jaysus, Iād have a lot of time for Timmy and despise Gilroy more than the next man, Timmy is an alright sort for sure
But if heās comparing managing the Tralee tigers in the super league to managing the Irish rugby team heās being a bit precious, even the substitution rules in the two games make it an irrelevance, no basketball coach in history has his available match winners on the bench when the game is on the line

So in short. Timmy didnāt have to make the hard decision he was adamant he would have made
He was 100% right in his overall opinion on the Sexton situation. It was just a shit anecdote
