I was just goin to post that. The fuckin state of it
Also had cameras rolling inside the room to record the event. So this guy fits the profile of a self loathing psychopath seeking his moment of significance and taking out as many people as he can with himself. Something that could be implemented is a complete ban on identifying and publishing photos of these nutters, which would at least take away their posthumous moment of fame. Itās truly sad that nobody outside of family and friends will know the identity of those killed and wounded, but everyone knows this cuntās name and has seen his face.
The victims are being named and eulogised throughout most of the international media mate.
Good luck trying to place a media blackout on identifying the perpetrators of such atrocities btw.
Sadly, nobody will remember the victims, except their family and friends.
There should be a complete media blackout on identifying the perpetrators. Why give them the one thing they seek?
That would be expecting too much though, I agree.
Iāll remember Tara Smith, the mother of 2 from Alberta, Canada. And I am neither friend nor family.
Can you imagine the uproar if the rest of the loons in that hellhole didnāt have a focalpoint for the vitriole and hatred? Youād give the conspiracy theorists a free rein to concoct whatever stories they please. No, you need to identify the perpetrator to satisfy the baying mob.
Damn you Geary Danley, damn you.
I disagree. There are not that many that go full psycho to the extent they will plan and execute a major mass killing like this. Compared to the number of overall homicides, the number of major mass killings such as this (not domestic disputes or workplace disputes) and the number killed is quite small (roughly 400 per year killed in mass shootings overall which is >4 killed per incident versus 15,000 homicides). Predictably though, the major mass shootings gets all the media attention.
There are two narratives trotted out whenever a mass killing like this occurs, limit the access to guns, and mental illness. About one in two Americans own a gun, and all have access to guns if they choose. Roughly 20% of Americans are diagnosed with some form of mental disorder. If access to guns and mental health were the main causative effects, the country would be experiencing millions of these events a year. The factor that does not get enough attention is intervention. Adam Lanza locked himself into his room for 3 months, and his mother left food outside the door for all that time instead of getting him the treatment he needed. Somehow we have to find a way to get to these individuals before their trigger event.
Youāve slightly veered off topic there. Iāll note that as an admission from yourself that your opinions on concealing the identity of the perpetrator have been retracted.
How ironic that somebody who was talking openly about banning Islam after the Paris massacre is now claiming that the number of people who die in āmass killingsā in the US is āquite smallā.
I guess which narrative is spun depends on whodunnit.
Nope, you note wrong. Iām trying (perhaps badly) to draw the distinction between major mass killings like Las Vegas and routine homicides. The definition of a mass killing in the US is where four or more victims are involved, in fact it included four people or more shot at. Most of these are domestic disputes, workplace disputes, etc. I have no issue with these perpetrators being named in the media. The issue I have is with events like Las Vegas, Orlando, Sandy Hook, Virginia Tech, San Bernardino, Fort Hood, etc. A total ban, as in federal offense, on identifying and publishing the identity of the perpetrators.
While it seems like these major events occur all the time in the US, there have actually only been a handful so far this decade, which is the worst in modern history.
More false equivalence, you are quite the expert at it.
Mass killings in the US not involving radical Islamists, such as Sandy Hook and Las Vegas, are perpetrated by manic depressive psychopaths who did not get the intervention and treatment they need. There is no evidence they were following any ideology, but there absolutely should be intervention and treatment for these individuals.
Mass killings by Islamic fanatics, such as Paris, Nice, Orlando, etc. are perpetrated by psychopaths who are followers of an insane violent ideology, and yes I believe any strand of Islam which calls for jihad against the west and is supportive of sharia law in the west should be banned.
What a cop out.
And who āintervenesā to treat somebody who shows no outward signs of needing intervention, like the perpetrator of this massacre?
Of course, donāt take their guns off them, whatever you do. That would be too āsimplisticā.
I donāt remember you ever making any distinction between āstrands of Islamā on this forum.
Whatās the most damaging insane, violent ideology here, anyway?
Iād venture that most rational people would say itās the one that sees absolutely no problem with 13,000 gun homicides a year.
Itās 12,000 gun homicides a year and all rational people have a serious problem with it. There is no ideology that supports gun homicides or any homicides, just people killing family members, neighbors, acquaintances due to a flagrant disregard for human life.
The homicide rate among the white community in the US is statistically not that distinct from Europe, among Hispanics is roughly double and among the black community is eight times. If availability of guns are the cause of all these homicides, why arenāt white people killing each other at the same rate as Hispanics and blacks?
Your logic is that of a simpleton.
When was the last time a white man in Europe assembled an armoury of 30 semi automatic guns, thousands of rounds of ammunition and in less than ten minutes shot over 600 people killing 59.
Now now sid, you know these people can all be scanned.
How many did the nutcase in Norway kill?
Generally family members are aware but donāt intervene. Adam Lanza locked himself into his room for 3 months. You would think one of his parents would have intervened, in particular the parent who lived in the same house.
How many mass shootings in Norway since then?
Since Breivikās attacks, the country hasnāt faced any mass shootings ā something that canāt be said about the US.
